Pet care experience
Hi! I'm Kate, and I'm an experienced dog-walker and pet caretaker. I am currently a graduate student studying clinical mental health counseling and I'm also a mom to a wild and wonderful 3 year old boy. I worked with Rover for about 2 years in the past, up until my son was born. Now that I have more daytime availability, I'm looking to start providing walks and care for your furry friends again. I also am an experienced dog owner, and had a poodle-mix pup and a mini dachshund for 5 years (divorce is unfortunately what separated us). My own dogs went through three obedience type training classes each so I am familiar with basic to intermediate dog handling commands, behavior interventions, and other skills. I have a lifetime of experience in caring for cats. Outside of my love for animals, I enjoy spending time with my son, listening to hip hop music, caring for houseplants, and kayaking.
Reviews
Kate did an awesome job house and kitty sitting. I loved all the pictures she sent, which made me feel very comfortable the whole time. I would definitely recommend. Thanks Kate!
Kate has been so good to work with! We just re-located to the area and Walter was having some stress from the move. She has been super patient, flexible and kind with him (and me). I feel lucky we found her!
Kate was amazing with our 2 special furbabies. She and the dogs appeared completely at ease and we could vacation without worry. Though all dogs are special, this is not the easiest for us to do because of our rescues' issues. She sent us multiple pictures and updates daily and was a breeze to work with. Will definitely be asking her to work with us again!
Kate is fantastic! She sent lots of pictures, asked questions, gave me updates, and the dogs looked happy. She took care of our house too, everything was spotless and she even did dishes and laundry. I would highly recommend her to anyone and will definitely be using her in the future.

I am not able to host any four-legged clients in my home at this time. In your home, I prefer to meet with you in advance to go over your pet's care routine, things that are special about your pet, safety features of your home; etc. The more I know about you and your pets, and what their needs and preferences are, the better care I can provide. When I spend overnights at a client's home, I always clean up after myself--wash any linens and dishes used, sweep, mop, wipe counters and sinks, and vacuum. If you require additional housekeeping items such as caring for plants or minor light housekeeping, I am willing to complete those within reason as well. I do not shovel snow from driveways, perform lawn care (except picking up doggie poop!) or do any deep cleaning unless your pet has an accident that requires attention while I am there. If you have in-home surveillance, I require notification that I will be on camera and will also have you sign a waiver that you will not post videos or photos of me without my permission. I am happy to care for pets who live in homes that are under surveillance, but do want to protect my own safety and identity as well.
Information Kate S. would like to know about your pet
I like to know your dogs feeding and walking schedule, preferred activities, what kind of treats they can have, do they have any activity restrictions or any allergies to cleaning products or foods, and how much interaction do they need in a day. Please let me know what kind of commands they know, and if you are OK having them off leash anywhere. Also please let me know if they are sociable/appropriate with other dogs and people.
A typical day
For walks, I am happy to walk around your neighborhood or local dog park. If time allows for it, I love to take dogs on hiking trails or to the beach for a change of scenery and off-leash time if it is appropriate for your dog. I have experience providing physical therapy for dogs who need it at drop ins, playing fetch in the back yard, or just a long snuggle session with plenty of hugs and pets if your pet is more low-key.
