Pet care experience
I have been a dog owner and animal lover since I was a child. I grew up with an Airdale and a Golden Retriever and then owned a rescue Shepard-Collie mix for 12 wonderful years. The resident dog is Crayon, a playful, loving 5-year old Shih Tzu. We love long walks, trips to Freedom Park, playing fetch and other types of active play. Crayon is a high energy dog but he loves other dogs and is very loving and affectionate. When we had a dog-guest here who was homesick, Crayon brought toys over to her and dropped them at her feet to make her feel welcome. Non-smoking one bedroom apartment with access to green space and a dog run. We offer some specialized services! I can take your pet to vet visits either during a boarding stay or as a daycare option. Cost is $22.

Our Roxie loves loves to visit Kate. She gets more attention and better walks there than we give her! Kate goes the extra mile to make sure she is happy and taken care of. It all shows in her texts and pictures. Kate has been very flexible with her schedule. I highly recommend her.

Dog boarding guests receive a lot of attention, get plenty of exercise and are fed to suit their needs. I've been known to sit on the kitchen floor hand feeding a shy pup. I firmly request proof of vaccinations and a verbal promise that your pet has regular flea treatments and that they are up to date.

I have an affinity for SENIOR DOGS and SPECIAL NEEDS DOGS and love to make them as comfortable and happy as they can possibly be. Please provide details of health issues and we will do everything to make your dog's visit seamless. We require proof of up-to-date immunizations for rabies, distemper and bortadella.
A typical day
Trips to Freedom Park! Strolling the trails at the Duke Mansion. Lakeside walks around Freedom Park. Exploring Huntingtowne Gardens. A fun activity is planned for every day! I will take your dog to a vet appointment if you can't! We love special needs dogs and provide them with extra loving care. Plenty of one-on-one cuddling!

Availability
Pets are the main event in my home. I'm here most of the day and when I have a guest dog I'm always here at night. We get outside 4 times a day and take interesting walks, either through the woods or around the neighborhood. The younger dogs always get at least one LONG walk every day. Trips to Charlotte area parks and the gardens at the Duke Mansion are a regular occurance. I make delicious home-cooked turkey or chicked-based organic dog food and can add it to your dog's stay. Every dog gets a lot of hand-on personal attention including cuddles when they need them.
