I'm an active, outdoorsy medical student who misses having dogs of my own. As a kid, I wanted to be a veterinarian, and I always had dogs and other pets while growing up. Growing up in Sioux City, I raised and trained our three Labrador Retrievers and Beagle, in addition to bottle feeding kittens and working with horses. During these trying times, I am home with my mother, grandma, dog, and cats. Your pets can take advantage of my desire to get outdoors in my free time, as well as our fenced dog yard and lots of open space near our home to walk or hike. I'm happy to run with your dog if they're up for it, and if not they'll be the center of my attention on our walks and playing at home! I have a French Bulldog puppy who is 4 months old and LOVES making new friends with other dogs. If your dog is less enthused about that, he also has his own playpen and area of the house he can stay. We have 3 cats, but they're mostly outdoors and avoid dogs. I am happy to pet-sit for healthcare providers and essential workers during these times, and I will actually be starting my medical residency in June.
