Experienced Animal Care Worker

Pet care experience

I have worked as a doggie day camp counselor at a boarding facility for 6 years, while taking care of dogs and cats during their daytime and overnight stays. I am also a trainer who specializes in shy and reactive dogs. ** I am fully vaccinated! I will always wear a mask when indoors with you, and am happy to wear a mask with just your pet if you would like!**

Kate has watched my 7 year old Ragdoll, Bree, several times for overnight visits while I’m away from home for a few days. She easily adapts to Bree’s dramatic mood swings and plays with her when she wants but also gives her space when she doesn’t. She’s a great sitter!

Kate is absolutely one of the kindest hearted individuals I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She is kind, intuitive, and incredibly connected to the animals temperament. My doggo loves her so much. I would trust her in my home and with my furbabies. Don’t hesitate in booking Kate - she is the best!!

Safety, trust & environment

For drop ins, I would come to your house and play with them inside or outside, depending on what you and your pets would prefer. We can play, do some training exercises, have an afternoon snack, or just snuggle up for some cuddles and belly rubs. For walks, we could go around your neighborhood for a leashed walk, I could take them for an outing to get a pup cup or to a pet friendly patio at a cafe, or we could go on a light hike for a while to get some enrichment and social time. My personal favorite is snuggle time in my hammock after a nice walk in the park. Have a senior pet or a pet with special mobility needs? I have a small dog stroller and am planning on getting a larger dog stroller so your pet can still go out on the town and enjoy the sunshine!

Information Kate D. would like to know about your pet

Does your pet have anything they get nervous about? If so, would you like us to work on it or accommodate it? Where does your pet like to go? What do they like to do? Do they like going new places or do they have a favorite spot for their walks? Do they have any medications or special needs? Any allergies? These are all things I would like to discuss with you at a meet and greet so your pet and I will start off on the right foot (or paw.)

A typical day

I love going on long sniffing walks to give them a chance to explore, as well as taking dogs to more populated areas to practice positive reinforcement training (if they are comfortable with it.) Some dogs and cats are definitely more introverted and I like to just hang out at home and play fetch or tug with them, or go to park near my house to set up my hammock for some snuggles in the sunshine.
