Lawyer by day, pet lover by night

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Kate! By day I’m an attorney, but by night I have a bleeding heart for critters. I have recently transitioned from working from home to returning to the office in-person, which has changed my pet sitting schedule a bit. Although I can still accept some weekday boarding requests, I can no longer do weekday drop-ins, and weekday housesitting is on a case-by-case basis. I grew up taking care of abandoned kittens & I have been responsible for pets since age 5. I have experience fostering puppies, adult dogs, kittens, and cats. I also have experience administering medication to cats and dogs, giving shots to cats and dogs, and caring for diabetic animals. I’m happy to care for your exotics as well! I recently adopted foster fail #2, Porkchop (a black lab mix), and I also have two cats Jellybean (a fat ragdoll), and Luna (foster fail #1). I’m flexible and able to work with all different kinds of breeds and temperaments. I know that leaving our fur babies behind for any reason is a daunting experience, and it’s important to feel confident that we are leaving them in the care of a trustworthy person who will make taking care of them a priority. I love animals & could not imagine my life without them, so I am happy to be that person for you! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

We were so happy with Kate! She stayed in our home and took good care of our 4 dogs over the weekend. Our pups felt very comfortable with Kate and loved snuggling with her. Great communication and lots of picture updates. Will definitely book again. Highly recommend her!

If I’m housesitting or doing a drop in, I’m at your mercy. I LOVE detailed instructions & I will follow them to the letter. Don’t be afraid to write me a novel about exactly how much and how often to feed your pet, their rigid schedule, or anything else. My babies have a routine too, and it’s especially important for them to stick with it when we’re not around! That sense of normalcy and consistency eases the anxiety of change. Whether your dog sleeps in a crate or has free range, likes the backyard or long walks, we can make it work. And if I’m housesitting and you say Roscoe always sleeps in the bed with you, trust me, Roscoe is sleeping in the bed with me.

Information Kate A. would like to know about your pet

Boarding: I’ll need to know if your fur baby can get along with my fur babies & their breed/weight/temperament! Animals in need of boarding MUST be house trained. Also, I ask that you leave them with something from home. A favorite toy, a shirt of yours, their own bed, just something familiar. It helps a lot with getting them settled. All services: Please share information about your pet’s daily schedule and how you’d prefer them to spend their time when I’m away (can they have free reign? Should I crate them? Those types of things). Aside from that, just let me know what you think is important. Their schedule, their feeding situation, furniture rules, medication needs, etc.

A typical day

I live in a quiet neighborhood, many people walk their dogs past my home everyday. Not a busy area at all and super pet friendly. I also have a fully fenced backyard for hanging out, tossing a ball around, etc.
