Kat’s Walking Dogs!

Pet care experience

We are a husband and wife team and we have our best friends as tenants next-door, so you're getting about 4-5 dog sitters for the price of 1! I’ve had all sorts of pets from fish, to reptiles, amphibians, rodents, dogs, cats, and marsupials. I am a life long animal lover and have owned all different breeds of dogs including a few of the more“stubborn” breeds such as a husky, a chow/Doberman mix, and a pitbull, so I am willing and able to care for breeds with strong personalities. I have also had plenty of experience with little dogs, such as my 16 year old chihuahua and my moms Pomeranian, so I am also well versed in dealing with DIVAS! I have watched MANY puppies and worked on their leash skills, basic commands, and I think just being around other dogs really helps puppies figure out what is acceptable, they learn so much from one another. I have also had 2 dogs who lived to be at least 16 years old so I know how to work with seniors and have systems for carrying larger old dogs up/down our outside steps when they need to go potty. I am also well versed and comfortable with administering oral medication. I own a two family home (side by side units) and my unit is a two floor three bedroom home. I have an unfenced yard and a large front porch so on a leash your pet can spend plenty of time outside.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the outstanding care Kat provided for my dog, Copper! Kat’s attentiveness, affection, and evident love for animals made Copper’s stay truly exceptional. When Copper returned home, he was not only happy and healthy but loved being with Kat, her doggies and family. I highly recommend Kat’s services to any pet owner seeking exceptional care for their beloved furry friends.

This was my first time using Rover and Kat made the experience great. Her regular updates with pictures, videos, and descriptions of how my dog was doing and how she was interacting with the other dogs helped ease any anxiety I had about leaving my three months old puppy with someone else for a weekend. Kat was also very easy to communicate with, always being attentive to messages and any questions I had. I highly recommend her as a dog sitter!

Kat was AMAZING! I left my dog with her for 8 days while I went on vacation, and she was constantly sending me updates, pictures, videos, etc. which is exactly what I wanted. Zero complaints at all, and I will definitely be rebooking with her in the future!

Kat is my main dog sitter. Lexi feels right at home with her and her family. Always my first choice!

I have a large un fenced yard and my home is two floors. We try to keep the dogs confined to the first floor all day, so that we can have an eye on them at all times. If certain dogs require sleeping with us, then those dogs are brought upstairs at night to our bedroom. We separate them for feeding times, either with gates, playpens, or crates. That’s just an extra precaution so no fights over food could ever occur. We can separate the first floor into 3 sections, living room, dining room, and kitchen, if necessary.

Information Kat T. would like to know about your pet

I have a senior chihuahua (16 years old), a 1.5 year old Catahoula mix and a 10 year old daughter so it is important to know if your dog is friendly with dogs and children. I also prefer to know dog's typical sleeping arrangements so that if there is more than one dog staying with us, we can be sure that we are able to accommodate everyone accordingly.

A typical day

I am a new/first time home owner so I love going for walks around the neighborhood and bringing along the dogs is the perfect excuse to get out more! I also love to go to a dog friendly beach, hiking, and to local dog parks (all with owners approval first of course). We spend time in the backyard in nice weather, we even have a kiddie pool for the pups to cool off in. We also like to leave the front door open so the dogs can hang out on the porch (which we have equipped with a gate for safety).

Availability

I work part-time mornings just a 2 minute drive from my home, my husband is home until 3PM weekdays, my neighbors/tenants are my best friends and they work from home, and my dad lives half mile down the road. So basically, there is never any shortage of people who are around and available, even if I needed to run out for an emergency, there will always be someone who can step in and keep the doggies company.
