Pet care experience
I am an organized, proficient, and enthusiastic animal care professional! I have worked with animals for most of my life and all of my career and have an extensive background in animal behavior. I love neighborhood walks and playtime with your pets! I have a flexible schedule and am strongly committed to replicating the level of care you provide your pet while you're away. I have cared for animals at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and own cats and snakes at home, and have co-managed my family’s in-home dog boarding business. I enjoy long neighborhood walks, local hikes, and am an avid SCUBA diver. In my career I’ve had the pleasure of working with not just domestic pets, but all kinds of animals from tigers to birds, octopuses to sharks. I have also been a feline volunteer for many years, most often with kittens and difficult adult cats. I have been a dog sitter for Rover and dog walker with Wag! for over four years, and have run my own dog sitting business through frequent clients for seven. I prefer to do home stays, as your home is where your dog is most comfortable, and therefore the easiest and most stress free experience for them! I work from home some weeks so I can be flexible with the amount of daily care I can provide to your pups, but when I’m in the office I am able to do walks and feeds outside of working hours. In your home I enjoy following any existing routines and protocols you have for your dogs, whether it’s a complicated leash/harness, crating during the day, timed medication delivery, or treat training. I'm also happy to take lots of pictures of your pets if you want! For new clients, I ask lots of questions at our meet & greet to establish your day-to-day with your dogs and how best to replicate it while you’re gone. I also have a business partner who can step in or provide support during any unforeseen or emergency circumstance, such as getting stuck at work late or if something were to happen to me or your pet while you're away. I take great care to provide a failsafe environment when caring for your pet while you're away!

Our schedules have not aligned for a while but we are happy to have been able to work with Kat again. Everything went perfect as always and the dogs were happy and well when we got home.
This was our first experience with Rover and Kat could not have made the process any easier or rewarding for our pets. She is a very personable individual, she was prompt not only at our first meet and greet but showed up at the agreeable times providing the best care for our two dogs. She was also waiting for us when we return from our trip to review how things went from her perspective. This is the first time we've ever experienced such service. We will use Kat again and I would strongly recommend that if you're wanting great care for your pets that you give her a call.
Always feel safe having Kat watching our house and dogs. Have been working with her for a long time, now. Highly recommend.
Kat is amazing! She took great care of our fur baby Uhtred while we were gone for the week. She left the house spotless! Uhtred enjoyed his week with her! Look forward to using Kat again on our next trip! Thank you Kat! ??

Additionally, it's important to know about their temperament around people and other dogs as well as any medications, anxiety, or special needs they may have. The more I know about your pup's day-to-day, the more comfortable I can make their experience and provide seamless care with high reward for your dog(s)! My favorite breeds are German shepherds, golden retrievers, border collies, and cattle dogs, but anything with 4 paws and a wet nose immediately warms my heart!

I also have equipment to take your furry companion to their favorite local beach or hike (available for pet sitting only). I love offering your animals the opportunity to try new things, if they’re willing!
