Kat the Dog Lady at Your Service!

Pet care experience

Kat G. at your service! :) As an animal lover, pet owner, and former CSR/tech/manager at a veterinary clinic, I promise to always try to provide your pet with the best care and shower them with overflowing love when they are with me. No matter if your pup has behavior issues you would like to address and work on, some medical issues that need to be considered and treated, a puppy who needs to work on learning tricks or housebreaking, a senior who just wants some Netflix and some extra TLC, or a dog who needs to run and shed a few extra pounds, I'm your girl! I am willing to work with all of these things and everything else in between to ensure you of a great experience and great service. Animal Experience I have experience as a dog walker and pet sitter from the company, Oh To Be A Dog which is based in the San Gabriel Valley. It was a very rewarding job going to many homes daily to do drop in visits, walks, pet-sitting, and even sneaking in a few belly rubs and ball throws to our furry clients. I dealt with all sorts of breeds which did include pit bulls, german shepherds, huskies, chihuahuas, and all the “in-betweens.” I also volunteered at the Pasadena Humane Society as a dog-enrichment volunteer where I provided shelter dogs with lots of love and enrichment toys while enforcing good behavior. I also volunteered at the veterinary clinic there where I was mainly responsible for pre-surgical preparation and post-surgical care. I gained a lot of experience working with many different dogs, cats, and rabbits that ranged in all breeds and all ages. This position helped me realize that my true calling was working with animals and people. When I moved back to San Diego this summer, I started volunteering with the San Diego Humane Society with their Wildlife Rehabilitation program, Project Wildlife. I have also been an Animal Care Specialist at one of the most premier pet resorts in San Diego, Dr. Boyd's Pet Resort where I get to work with pets all of the time! I have also worked 4.5 years as a CSR, was a fill in Vet Tech, & eventually became the Office Manager at my former job at Otay Pet Vets which is down the street at the Otay Ranch Mall. ☺️ How My Love For Animals Started Growing up as a child, I first began my love for animals with my very first pet- a beautiful black stray cat that my little 4 year old self named, Blackie. From then on, I fell in love with the animal kingdom and became a passionate pet owner of many more pets such as birds, hamsters, fish, turtles, and dogs. As of today, I am a proud mom of a beautiful 13 year old, silly, white Labrador Retriever named Trixie who I have trained, grown up with, and raised since I was 10 years old. I also currently own a beloved scaly 14 year old Red-eared Slider named Zip, who I have taken care of since I was 9 years old. Over the years, I have grown to love these amazing companions and have gained experience not only taking care of my own pets but pet-sitting all sorts of animals for my friends and families. I treat all of these pets as if they were my own, and I truly find joy in establishing that pet-human bond with each of them. I am passionate and dedicated to provide the utmost care and love for our beloved “furry family members.” Medication Experience Because I have volunteered at a veterinary clinic, have worked at one, & because my Trixie was an old pup that has a lot of issues, I have experience administering oral medication, subcutaneous injections, and intramuscular injections. I am currently working on opening up a business, so I work from home & make my own schedule which gives me the freedom to take care of my pets as well as make time to take care of your fur babies. I will always propose a Meet & Greet so that you can get to know me & so I can get to know you and your pets. I make sure that I know their usual routines, quirks, & things to be aware of. I will ask all the questions needed to make sure your pet is getting the best care possible.

Kat was really great, glad we were able to book her while we were away for a week vacationing. She seemed very knowledgeable with dogs and She was great with daily updates with pics and videos. I felt very comfortable with her staying at my place and taking care of our babies. The pups seemed very happy when we got back.

We’re so lucky we found Kat! We’ve only had our pup for a week and felt comfortable leaving her under Kat’s care. Not only did Kat take great care of our pup and give her lots of love, but she also gave us advice and answered all of our questions (we had a lot of questions ?) We’re looking forward to contacting Kat for future sittings ??

Any specific likes or dislikes of the pet, behavior patterns, any skills they would like to work on, anything they would like to incorporate into the visit/walk.

A typical day

My priority is always what is best for the owner and the dog. I love to play and go for walks with dogs, and I really don't mind how long the owner prefers (when boarding in my house). I never let the dog out of my sight, and I am very attentive to details. I will notice if a pup starts acting differently and its body language. Dogs are their own beings with their own personalities that differs between each pup. I will always treat the dog with love, patience, and enthusiasm because I would want my own pup being treated as another family member when she is being looked after by someone else.
