Kat & dogs, living together!

Pet care experience

My family (Kat) always had dogs when I was growing up, so I’ve been around dogs my entire life. My husband (Nick) and I are both huge dog lovers and animal lovers in general, and we can’t wait to meet your fur children! We both have years of experience with pet sitting and dog walking in NYC, including me (Kat) owning a pet care business. That said, we have an endless list of references we can provide so you know your pup will be in the absolute best care. We pride ourselves on our accessibility and responsiveness, so you will receive constant updates on how your fur baby is doing. Our goal is to make your time away from your pup worry free so you can enjoy your vacation while your fur baby receives the best care possible. At our home, all dogs are treated like family ☺️ We have experience with a large array of different breeds, ages, temperaments, and health issues, ranging from the hyper small pup on anxiety meds to the more ornery, older larger pup. And we love them all equally. The wonderful thing about dogs is that they each have a personality that is truly unique, and we treasure that. Additionally, because we have so much combined experience with pet care, we are well equipped to handle many different types of situations while remaining calm, cool, and collected. I (Kat) have had my fair share of being bitten by dogs, grabbing chicken bones out of mouths, hiding pills in peanut butter - you name it, I've seen it, I've dealt with it! We promise to meet the needs of your animal to a T, guaranteed. I (Kat) work remotely. Because of this, your pup will never go long without attention and walks. Nick's workplace is also dog-friendly, if they’re up for a doggy field trip. We have a car, so public transportation is a non-issue. We live steps away from Fort Greene Park and about 15/20 minutes from Dumbo, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and Prospect Park. Nick's parents also live on Staten Island, and they have a large house with a big backyard. There is also beautiful Conference House Park nearby with stunning nature trails. With your permission, we can take your pup on an adventure there! All dogs absolutely love it. The opportunities for walks and playtime are endless! We have a sizeable 1 bedroom apartment in an elevator building, so for any owner concerned about stairs for their pup, no worries here! All animals are allowed on furniture as well. We always treat the animals we are watching like our own. That’s the only way to do it!

Our pup Otis loved his long weekend with Kat and Nicholas! Upon meeting Kat - we knew he’d be in great hands. She was extremely communicative leading up to and throughout his stay. Each day we received frequent photo and video updates of his many adventures! We will definitely be rebooking with Kat and Nicholas in the future! :)

Such great sitters! Kat and Nick were responsive, sent lovely updates everyday and have been so kind and loving to our little dog. Also I had to last-minute change the dates slightly and Kat was extremely accommodating, which really helps!

Kat & Nick were the best sitters we could have found! They met Lucy with us before our trip so once we left for a fairly long trip she was so excited to stay with them. Our gal has her quirks and they were all handled with love and care. We got lots of pictures and updates throughout the week which was appreciated and we would definitely rebook in the future. Everything was communicated clearly and pickup and drop off were super easy. Kat & Nick are true dog lovers who treated Lucy like family - what more could you ask for!

Kat and Nicholas took fantastic care of our 13 year old beagle! They made us feel super comfortable about leaving her for a few days and tended to all of her needs as a senior dog. We received frequent photos and videos to keep us updated, which we loved! We will definitely ask them to pet sit our girl again!

Information Kat & Nicholas M. would like to know about your pet

Their favorite movie? Ideal date? Favorite color? Jokes aside ☺️ - If the dog has any pre-existing medical conditions that require medication, if the dog has leash aggression or food aggression tendencies, and if the dog has general behavioral quirks - aggression/shyness/etc. Additionally, we would be curious if the dog can be off leash during off leash hours at Fort Greene Park. Or as we like to call it, “Dog Town.” **Although Nick and I love all dogs, we will NOT board dogs at our apartment that are not house broken - including puppies still using wee wee pads/dogs who use bark potty's - no exceptions**

A typical day

We will enjoy all that beautiful Fort Greene has to offer. Maybe go hang with some buddies at Fort Greene Park or even check out the Brooklyn Bridge Park. Prospect Park is also a hop, skip, and jump away. Because I (Kat) work remotely, I am able to provide walks as often as every 1-2 hours if needed. Whether your dog is an hour long walk type of gal/guy or simply around the block, I got ya covered. We will also provide endless belly/head/butt scratches. That’s a promise.
