No such thing as a bad dog, just bad training

Pet care experience

I’ve loved and taken care dogs my whole life and have been doing dog walking since I was in primary school. At around ten, I started training friends dogs and realized I had a skill and a passion. Since then I have endeavored to spend as much time with dogs as possible, and to help any nervous or timid dogs, so that they can come out of their shell and just enjoy theirselves. There’s nothing I love more, than seeing a nervous dog becoming confident enough to bound around happily. Dogs look to us for guidance, so I endeavour to set clear and confident boundaries so that they, can be calm and assured in enjoying their time, safe in my care I am currently working full time as a dog walker. I therefore should be able to accommodate any hours you need me for and have good availability Depending on your preferences, I am available to pop in regularly through the day, to keep your pup happy and walked. Or to spend the full time you are away, just being with your dog, keeping it company and well looked after (not to mention well loved). The more time I’m able to spend with your amazing dogs the better.

Kat has been so nice with our cats and she is very kind, caring and professional. We will be happy to book her again soon.

Athos had only recently returned home after a few days in Kennels over Christmas, and he has been exhibiting some additional nerves and skittishness (above his usual nervous nature), and I was unfortunately called away for work reasons so had to book a sitter, but I was thrilled that Kat was available again. As always, Kat dealt marvelously with Athos and his nerves and additional needs, giving him so much love and comfort that I came back to a happy boy, and she looked after my flat beautifully like usual.

First time for someone looking after him in the evening and I feel very reassured with Kat looking after Fergus. Happy sleepy puppy when I arrived back home!

Safety, trust & environment

I will always ensure the safest environment possible for your pet, including regular safety checks, for those less active pets whose ailments might go unnoticed. In addition to this, I will always request to have the contact information for whichever veterinary practice your pet is registered, to allow for the quickest possible response and treatment, in a crisis situation.

Information Kat B. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviours I should be conscious of, so that I can provide the best possible care and the most enjoyable walk I can for your doggo. If you have a nervous dog, any triggers they have and any comforting techniques they respond to, will be great information to have to ensure I am able to put your pups mind at ease. There is nothing worse than seeing a dog in distress.

A typical day

As a lifelong lover of animals, I always endeavour to give your pet the most enjoyable and safe time in my care. I love to spend as much time as possible out on walks with your dogs, especially in big parks like Morden hall, or on one of the commons. On these walks I like it to be entirely their time, so they can choose, where to go, what to sniff and how long we stay out. I like to think that it’s their walk and I’m just along with them, to guide them and keep them safe. On these walks I like to let the dogs smell all the fresh air in the neighbourhood, socialise with other friendly dogs (if the dog socialises well) and just run around engaging them in play. For dogs that are not allowed off lead (please inform me of this and any other important walk information), I aim to be as active with them as possible, allowing them to play and run but at my pace. I want to keep your dogs as active as possible and I do not want to be the limiting factor in their walk, so all of my athleticism and energy, will go into keeping them engaged on our walk. In the evenings I like to cuddle up (obviously only with dogs who’re comfortable with this) and just give them reassurance that I’m there for them and that they are safe with me. Additionally I love to play tug of war and catch with your pup, I find that giving the dogs tie to play, really helps to facilitate bonding and gets them more relaxed and comfortable in my care (not to mention, helps to thoroughly tire them out)
