Pet care experience
In Alaska I spent the last 13 years volunteering for my local animal shelter. I’ve owned a wide variety of animals— dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters, goats, cows, birds, snakes and fish! I currently have two lovely dogs, A Shih Tzu and a German Shepherd. I am currently enrolled at the University of Denver, working toward my graduate degree in school psychology. While I love working with people, my passion is truly in animals. My schedule is still pretty open with my program, however it is best to submit your requests as soon as possible so I can make sure that I will be the best fit! If I do house sit, I can help take care of any chores while you are away (shoveling, watering plants, getting mail, cleaning, etc). I hope that gives you a little insight into my life. I look forward to meeting you and your pet(s)!

Kassie exceeded all my expectations! She stayed in our home on a holiday weekend and was reasonably priced. She gave daily updates and was communicative. She left my home sparkling clean and even took out the trash. She also made bandannas for my boys and had them “lick” me a painting and it was the most thoughtful gift ever! I won’t be booking with anyone else from here on out. If you are on the fence about booking with Kassie this is your sign to book with her because we have never had a more perfect dog and home sitter.

Kassie was easy to work with from the beginning. She lived on my doggies and provided great care. I got pictures and updates daily. She even accommodated last minute changes to the schedule when an issue came up with my trip. Thank Kassie for everything! Will definitely be rebooking with her for my trips later this year!

My broad range of experience with animals provides you with security knowing your pets are in great hands. I have experience working with pets with anxieties. My own dog is reactive, so I have plenty of experience walking and managing reactive pets. I am comfortable using muzzles.
Information Kassie H. would like to know about your pet
Before sitting your pet I will have several questions pertaining to providing your pet with the best services. These can include allergies, reactivity, vet information, etc. I love all pets no matter the size or amount. I’ve sat households with dogs varying in size from 10 lbs to 130 lbs. I’ve watched pack sizes with as many as 7 dogs. I had goats, cows, and chickens of my own so I am comfortable with farm animals. I am fully flexible to match you and your pets needs.
A typical day
When staying with your dog we will do many exciting things for both your dog and me. Including walking to a pet store for some goodies (if they are social enough and is allowed), potentially a local dog park, and even on his or her favorite route. We will play lots of fun games depending on the dog's interest. Constant attention, because I won't be able to stop giving them loads of love!

Availability
My current course loads consist of class Tuesday-Thursday. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I am done by noon. Wednesdays I am done by 5pm. I will not know my schedule starting January, but will update my availability as soon as I know. If I am not in class I’m spending time studying or enjoying the weather. This leaves me plenty of time to spend with your pet(s) either indoors or outdoors.
