Being around dogs makes me happy
Pet care experience
I grew up with big dogs (Labrador, Golden retriever). While I studied in Greece, I would pet sit/walk my friends' and neighbors' doggies. I hosted multiple stray cats and dogs I found on the streets, paid all their vet expenses until I found them a home. Here in LA, I've worked as a sitter and walker both freelance and in a company. At the moment I live with cats. But can't wait to have space to bring dogs back into my life. Believe me, the dogs love me :) When visiting the client's home, depending on their requests, I sit on the floor and play with the pet. If there is a backyard we'll definitely run around together there. During our walks, if the dog isn't trained to walk properly (meaning the dog pulls a lot), I always do my best to teach them not to pull.
Reviews
Karina did an OUTSTANDING job of taking care of our two Great Danes and two cats while we were out of town for the Holidays. This was a challenge as our two Danes are like toddlers, requiring constant attention, plus one of our cats is a 18 year old senior. Add to this - it was raining for a few days and we know our dogs hate going out side in the rain. Karina was awesome. She stayed in contact with us, sent photos and we know she did whatever was needed to keep pets and our home safe while we were away. We are truly grateful and appreciate Karina very much. Thank you Karina!
Karina Cared for our beloved 13 year old Standard Poodle Chloe for a week while we were on vacation. She is an old but very sweet very special member of our family. Due to her age, she needs medication and other attention. When we returned from our trip, we were welcomed home to a much younger and very well cared for dog. We can not say enough to thank Karina for how well she took care of Chloe. We highly recommend Karina.
Karina is amazing with our cat Cathy! Thanks so much!
I can’t say enough good things about Karina. She is mature, responsible, dedicated, loving and trustworthy. As a dog walker and sitter myself it’s hard to leave them with anyone else. Karina took exceptional care of my two dogs. She was gracious about was own my insecurities and constantly updated and reassured me and sent lots of pictures. Most importantly she took the time to get to know my dogs and build their trust. I came home to a house that was cleaner than I left it and dogs that were safe, happy and healthy. She’s truly the best!!

Unfortunately I cannot host pets at my place because I have cats. In a client's home, since I'm spending most of the day there, I definitely spend many hours playing and talking to them
Information Karina L. would like to know about your pet
The only thing I would like to know before hand is if the dog needs medication and in which way the owner prefers I give it to him/her. Also, how does the doggy react with other dogs we might meet during our walk, should I let them smell each other or not?
A typical day
When walking a dog, depending on the dog, I like running with it on a leash. If the dog pulls while walking, I do some basic training to teach the doggy how not to pull and walk next to me. If we are in a fenced yard I'm sure the doggy will have the time of his/her life, we run and play fetch until we are both exhausted! Depending on the neighborhood, if there are parks or hiking areas, I prefer walking there than the sidewalk of the streets. I've had clients in the past that requested taking the dog for hikes on hiking trails

Being a freelance photographer and filmmaker makes it easy for me to organize my own schedule. I usually work from home, so I'm around all day
