Pet care experience
Ever since I was born, I grew up with at least 2 dogs and some cats. I love all animals & I am super compassionate & caring to all animals. Since I've grown up with many different animals, I have learned that each animal has it's own personality & therefore there is a unique way to interact with each of them. I 100% understand that every animal is a special part of the family, and I know the importance of interacting with each animal with love and understanding. I first started dog sitting when I was about 12 years old, for neighbors dogs. I also used to participate in a local program where you could care for a dog that was still up for adoption for a day, and give it love and a fun day. I have also had some dogs that require more care than others. One of my childhood dogs, Zima, had lots of required medications that I had to learn how to give her when my mom wasn't around to do so. I love to take my dog on adventures almost daily, so that she gets to have more fun than just the daily walks.

Karina is a true dog lover! I was so fortunate to find Karina to take care of my two black labs. As a working, single mom, it was critical that I found someone who is dependable, caring, and passionate. Karina is that person! Not only did she walk and feed the dogs as requested, she spent time with them, got to know them, played with them, and even monitored their health. She would report on her time with them and even note any potential health concerns (e.g., one seems to have a small rash). She is sensitive to the different personalities of dogs and adjusts her behaviors accordingly resulting in a special bond with each dog. I highly recommend Karina to anyone looking for a responsible caretaker who has a real knack with our beloved dogs!
Karina is a very kind and loving person. She has her own dog who cares for all the time. She even had her dog during her latter college years and, despite all the distractions that college can provide, she very lovingly cared for her dog. Growing up as a child she has always had pets of various kinds. She has had cats, frogs, fish, and other dogs (other than her current dog she has had since college). Karina is very responsible and very pet-friendly. She will be sure to care for your pet(s) as if it/they were her own.

I know not many people would be comfortable with this, but I let my dog off of the leash when we get to remote areas of our hikes, and she stays around me. I also would like to know if they are defensive while eating or playing with toys, because my dog is super easy going, and another dog could practically eat her food while she is standing in front of it.
A typical day
Walks occur around the neighborhood, although I like to take my dog on daily adventures. These consists of hikes that I like to do, so we can both explore new areas! I bring a backpack full of water, some dog food just in case, and a dog bowl. I normally bring a toy or two, so we can play fetch. If this is something you are comfortable with your dog participating in, we would love to have a friend come with us!
