After meeting Kari it won't take long before you realize she is a great person with a huge heart, and I cannot say enough good things about her. I am an animal lover and I believe that pets are part of your family. I care greatly about their well being and happiness, and I want to leave my animals in the care of others who would feel the same way. With that being said, I am particular about who I will leave my animals with. Our youngest dog is a very active 4 year old rescue (Australian shepherd mix) who can be very hyper and challenging at times. We live on a main road and our youngest dog, Millie, has bolted out the front door more than once, so there are only a handful of people who are allowed to come into our house if we aren't home - Kari is one of those people. She acknowledged and understood my concerns for Millie's safety and for those around her, especially small children. Millie is a wonderful dog but she is isn't perfect. She has a tendency to bolt if the opportunity presents itself and she is also easily excited by people, especially small children - she loves to lick their faces and when she gets really excited she jumps straight up in the air and has occasionally jumped on people. For this reason we are careful about who and how she comes into contact with strangers. At the park kids are always trying to pet our dogs, and I first handily witnessed Kari (without any instruction) settle Millie down and help the children into a position where they could pet Millie but there would be no concern about her jumping on them or licking their faces. Our oldest dog is 11 years old, Kari was able to recognize that she had different needs that our youngest. She accommodated Lacy's slower pace and recognized areas where she needed assistance due to elevation changes. With all of this being said Kari has demonstrated to me that she is extremely patient, flexible, and takes direction well. She respected my requests and concerns and I feel like she treats my animals as if they were her own. I would highly recommend her.
