I've had or cared for animals my entire life. I was always my family and friends go-to animal sitter. I've cared for dogs, cats, horses, all sorts of small animals, barn-yard animals, as well as various reptiles. I have experience with behavioral issues with dogs, as well as correcting them, through volunteer work at various animal shelters. I've been on the other side, I know how important communication is to ensuring peace of mind. I'm more than happy to send pictures during every visit and give you play-by-plays. I currently work as a mentor at a high school in town, I'm free after 3PM during weekdays and anytime on the weekend! I'm very flexible and easy going, I'd love a chance to end my day loving on your pets and giving other pet owners the opportunity to enjoy life knowing their best friends are loved and cared for in their absence. Regarding dog walking and/or drop in visits: I'm happy to offer a discount for multiple dog walking or drop in visits per day, I know multiple visits add up and I'm happy to work with you! Regarding dog boarding: I am happy to bring your dog into our family (even if only temporarily)! If your dog has separation anxiety, medical needs, destructive tendencies, or any behavioral issues simply let me know - I've had first hand experience with all kinds. We have a medium size backyard with a tall fence and secure gate. While we own crates, if you aren't a fan of crating we have a bedroom that can be transformed into your pets' suite during their stay! You can bring stuff from home (with the knowledge it may come back altered or destroyed), though we can provide crates, dog beds if needed, and plenty of treats! We only ask that you provide food, leashes/harnesses, and your wonderful pets! We currently own a large black lab mix named Ekko, who has never failed to get along with another dog, his favorite things to do are rough-house and cuddle, preferably on the couch. He's very understanding if your dog is scared and anxious, and won't respond negatively to growling or snapping. He'll happily share his toys and his owners love (and his food if we let him). We understand that occasional scrapes between dogs are a normal part of establishing friendship, we don't sweat the small stuff and have plenty of patience while this happens. We know they'll be friends in the end! We also own a cat named Pandora, and ask that any dogs that come into our home be cat friendly. While we understand curiosity and natural chasing instinct, we prefer that dogs older than 6 months and/or larger than 25 lbs have shown neutral or positive stances on cats. Pandora warms up to dogs quickly and has been known to taunt them by standing near the cat gate while she cleans her ears or sneaking behind them before sprinting away.
