Pet care experience
I am a textile designer/animal lover working from home with plenty of love and care to give your animal. My husband and I live in Decatur with a large back yard and short distance to Oakhurst Dog Park. We have 2 dog loving kids and 2 pups, Murphy & Sully. They are very friendly and get along great with others. I'm very experienced in animal care, having interned at animal hospitals, worked at pet boarding kennels, and regularly volunteer with local animal rescues. I also have a vet on call should any emergency arise. Why I love dog sitting Since birth, literally. I grew up with a golden retriever. Over the years, my family has had a dalmation, golden retriever, chocolate lab, mixed breeds, 2 cocker spaniels, long haired dachshund and now have 2 pups. About my yard Our back yard is a pretty nice size for living intown. It is fenced. Our yard has a long run, which is great for our Murphy, who loves to catch a long frisbee pass. My experience administering medication Yes, no problem there. In high school I interned a summer at a vet hospital and my best friend is a vet, so I'm comfortable with many animal situations.

Our pup had such an amazing time with Kari and her family! She was so sweet and sent plenty of updates and pics during the stay. She made sure to tailor the stay towards our pups s schedule. I know our pup is excited for her next stay with Kari!

We try to best follow the dog's own schedule so they feel familiarity with their routine. Do they need to have a quiet place to eat, are they grazers, how do they like to go outside, treats, playtime,etc? We work hard to make them feel comfortable, loved and at ease while they are in our care.

The most important thing is personality and how they live. I can accommodate any behavior or need as long as I know more about them and what they like. So tell us how your dog likes to be in their own home and we will do our best to recreate that experience. Our dogs are well trained & socialized and are allowed on the sofa and sleep with us in bed. No breed preferences, I love them all!
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks We live in a nice residential area just south of the Decatur square we like to walk our dogs around. Your dog's sleeping arrangement It's up to you. We have both hard & soft crates to use, several dogs beds, you can bring your own, or if you like to spoil your pet, we're fine with our animal friends lounging on our non precious sofas. We also allow our dogs to sleep in bed with us if that's what you prefer. Time I'll spend with your dog We spend a lot of time with our dogs in the morning working them out. Miss Murphy is a frisbee dog and needs sufficient exercise in the morning. We both work from home during the day and our dogs usually take that time to chill and are taken outside when they need. Dinnertime is followed by another round of exercise outside. The evenings usually involve some serious cuddle time on our large sectional sofa. We like to go for walks on the weekends and often visit the Oakhurst Dog Park.

Availability
We're up early for school drop off, so the pups are attended to right away, getting fed & taken outside. I work from home so I'm able to take dogs outside as needed. Ours will usually have dinner around 5 and go outside for some afternoon playtime. They get taken out as needed and right before we head to bed.
