I know how hard it can be to find a sitter that you trust and who will take good care of your loved ones while you're away, so I love providing this service for others. I've been a freelance pet sitter (dogs, cats, birds, fish, and more!) for years. I grew up taking care of dogs, cats, horses, chickens, fish, a turtle, hamsters, birds, ducks! I love all animals. I have return clients, but I joined Rover.com because I like the user-friendly platform and the systems they've put in place to make the process easier for all of us. I love working on basic skills with lots of positive reinforcement and when I walk dogs or board animals, or stay with them, that's what we do! I've worked with little dogs like Chihuahuas, Boston Terriers and Dachshunds as well as large dogs like Labradors, Rottweilers, Pitbulls, and Shepards. I've also worked with a variety of cats and helped them overcome past trauma and become more comfortable, sociable and happy. I have had success in bird training, especially using music as positive reward. I like singing with birds and playing the ukulele for them and they seem to love it too. I love walking with dogs around the neighborhood, or driving to the Bosque or somewhere different for adventure hikes! It's great to see dogs exploring a new environment and bask in their enthusiasm. Walking time is THEIR time. Walks are a great time for working on basic skills (leave it, heel, sit, stay, wait, fetch, catch, sit, shake, etc.) with positive reinforcement (can your dog have treats? hugs? both?) and seeing them enjoy learning a better skill set. I give great pet massages (some dogs and cats have never had a massage before!) and help them relax and feel great and healthy after a busy day. I do baths (yes, I have even bathed cats!), teeth brushing, and I'm good at administering medications when needed. I can trim claws, clean ears, all that stuff. I love animals, and I'm responsible, honest and tidy. I work at home on my own small business, so I can manage my career as well as make sure your pet has a fun, safe, comfortable environment during the day, or I am able to work with your schedule and make visits each day for care or walking. I have a fully fenced back yard. Your pet and I will be thrilled to get to know each other and spend quality time together.
