It breaks my heart to write this review. Karen was early to our meet and greet and was so great with my elderly cat. We talked for a while and I appreciated Karen's prior experience with animals. Karen was over an hour early for the first scheduled visit Saturday evening. My cat is on time sensitive medication and this was explained to Karen. Unfortunately, Karen did not show up for the second visit on Sunday morning that I scheduled with her through the app (a visit that she confirmed and booked) and even worse, did not respond to messages after the first visit had been completed. This caused us to cancel a full day of plans, panic call our emergency contact to come and visit my cat, and rush the several hours home. When we got home, we found that Karen had left out light sensitive medication that had to be stored in a cabinet and had not followed other directions that were explained to her in person as well as in written notes and in the care instructions in the app. We still don't know if there was an emergency with Karen or just a miscommunication since she never followed up with us. Rover Support suggested there was a miscommunication, as she spoke with them but never us. I do believe Karen was sweet to my cat, but I highly recommend that directions and scheduling are VERY clear with her before leaving your animals in her care.

We have known Karen for over 15 years, mostly when she lived here in Puerto Rico and worked with our group, PARE Este, Inc.. She rescued many dogs and was thoughtful and caring with each one. We know her as a kind person and that she would be responsible and be loving with any animal(s) in her charge.
