I was a volunteer at the S.B. County shelter for almost 10 yrs. I volunteer with All For Animals: I have a therapy dog, my dog and I read with children in the local schools. I've had dogs/cats my whole life. We have a cozy home with fenced yard. We have one cat and 1 friendly medium sized dog. Sadie is a border collie mix that I rescued from the shelter. She is 8 years old now. As we lost our 15 yr. old lab this year it is so fun to have dogs come visit and stay with us. Sadie gets along well with all dogs. I have Grandchildren but they aren't here often. I have been a trainer with the clicker technique for years. I still volunteer my time on most Saturday mornings with a K-9PALS class taught by Andrea Bratt, she is an awesome trainer and I have learned so many skills working with her. Helping folks who have adopted their dogs to learn skills and to train and teach their pets will better enable them to keep their new adoption, it is a wonderful way to volunteer. Please: I only accept dogs who have crate training, this is a safety issue.
