Hi, This is Karen and my girl Ruby. We work together as a team. She makes for a great sister to all dogs, young and old, big and small! And we love having new friends come play and stay. Ruby may be 75lbs but is a very gentle girl. We have hosted dogs as small as 8lbs and Ruby loves on them. I think she actually prefers the smaller ones! (As do I, these days....) Please Practice Random Acts of Kindness. There are no baby gates in my house. My house is your pups house. It's like Disneyland here for them. We have toys and stuffies by the box, treater puzzles and treater balls. Snuggles on the couch. A revolving door for when the need arises for outdoor breaks. The backyard even has hidden bones and balls for a great adventure. I truly do my best to make it a special time for your little loved ones. I am a believer of a well trained dog; keeping in mind, to honor and respect their own unique traits and personalities. Also understanding that dogs are dogs and can be easily distracted in different environments. On our walks, we enjoy mentally stimulating games; from weaving/ obstacles, quick focus changes, to searching for treats. We have many leashed and off leashed areas that we frequent. Backyard time is always a good workout, as is a good play tussle with Ruby! I have completed courses in general Core Training. Have also taken seminars on "Communications & Signals" and "Influencing Behavior & Reactions". I am observant and focused on my animals always. I will have their back and keep them safe. I watch for and can notice distress signals and can facilitate the removal of a dog from a situation, preferably before it can escalate. I am amazed by all animals and their capacity for unconditional love. And I do love to snuggle!! Just bring your Friend(s), enough food, snacks?!; and a bed, if they have a preferred one. We do have lots of extra bowls, beds and toys here. (If your pup is a chewer, please supply enough for the length of visit, treats too! Ruby likes her bones and treater toys/puzzles and I'm sure your dog would like to join in. I always have them join, but treats and bones do become costly, 🙏🏼 thanks 🐶💕😉 Please note: We always meet our new friends outfront in a neutral environment. You will say goodbye to your loved one in the frontyard, so there is no seperation created for the dog between my home and his/her owner. I assure you, your beloved animal will be treated as my own. Our new friend(s) will then join us in the backyard and off leash to really get to know each other, again in neutral territory, before finally heading indoors as friends, entering together. (This also helps them know which door they need to go out for potty....) Your fur baby will made to feel at home while they are here. My home is theirs, while you are away. I send pics and little videos throughout the stay, quantity dependent on parent. Sometimes we like pictures but it makes us miss them more too! ?? I will also honor the boarded dog before considering day care requests during their stay. As said, I will consider them my own and watch out for their best interests. I do have a large crate available, if that is how your dog is already trained. Otherwise, it will not be used. Run of the house during the day, bedtime in one room at night, with me. On my bed, in their bed, on the floor..., their choice. :) Longer stays are Welcome! Just send a text when you're on your way. Ruby and I can't wait to have you with us! Come and Stay with Us Ragamuffins.... Update: I have noticed that some of the larger dogs, when younger than Ruby, really have her off balance and uncomfortable in her own home. Unfortunately I will have to restrict size, mostly based on age. My preferences are set to dogs under 50 lbs but will take in older larger dogs. Also I have found that dogs are really puppies until they are two. I reserve the right to charge a puppy rate when a younger dog requires the attention of a toddler! It takes a lot more to be vigilant over young dogs, especially in new environments. And I am with your pups constantly. I don't bring them in and ignore them. We have lots of play and snuggles! This is my job right now and I commit to it full time!
