I am an avid animal lover - of most species. I love dogs, cats, birds, used to have hamsters/gerbils. Dogs are my favorite - and puppies are my "heart." I have spent years of my life researching larger animals such as dolphins, whales and now elephants. I believe in positive reinforcement only - and find that most dogs "take" to me even when owners expect them not to. I've loved friend's pets from a large malamute to a recent "schnoodle" puppy!! I feel that I'm very good with dogs (and cats) and can adjust my schedule to their needs. I've had experience with many breeds of dog. My first 2 dogs were standard American Eskimo Spitz dogs (ESKIES) - one female; one male - and they lived with me for 14 and 17 years. Such wonderful companions. This time, I opted to try the "toy" size - but ended up with a "mini" - (ca 16 lbs) - and love having him with me. He loves having the other dogs and puppies visit when they visit here - and welcomes the playmates (when they choose to interact). I walk them separately so that each gets individual attention (unless requested otherwise). Lately, I've had several breeds board - and will list references below.
