Pet care experience
Hello my dear friends and pet owners. Unfortunately I am currently leaving the area and will not be available for pet care. I will miss all my clients and sending you all a fond farewell. As you must be, in this business, a great lover of animals, If you talk to anyone that knows me, this is how they would describe me, “It seems there’s not an animal she hasn’t loved” My closest friends call me “the animal whisperer” I have owned pets all my life. I keep a clean home and enjoy all animals. I have experience in show dogs, cat shows, grooming. I adore all Animals ~ With boarding or daycare in my home, you can rest assured knowing your loved ones are in a comfortable, peaceful and caring environment. Your pet is never caged, and consider this as their home away from home. Dogs are taken out for walks a minimum of two times a day. ~ Cats ~ Due to COVID, I’m unable to accept cats at this time. ~ Puppies will be given special attention to: Housetraining, potty training, crate training, and basic verbal and visual commands ie, “sit, stay, come, off, down”. All training is emphasized on the reward basis. If you have already established basic training, I will stick to and reinforce your method. All receive snacky snacks. ~ Drop in and walking ~ Due to COVID I’m not accepting Drop-ins or Walking appointments at this time. I also rehabilitate wildlife when the occasion presents itself. Some of the wildlife I have experience with are: raccoons, birds, raptors and the like. Some injured, some neglected, or some who simply lost their compass. For me, the joy of healing and releasing wildlife so that they can get back to their “roots “ there is nothing more gratifying. My hours are completely flexible. I look forward to meeting with you and your furry family members. I would be incredibly honored to be your “go to” for all your pet care needs. Currently I have 1 dog: a Toy Poodle; 2 cats: a Rescue and a Tonkinese, all of which allow me to live amongst them.
Reviews
Our cockapoo Truman (14lbs) stayed with Karen for about a week and had a great experience. Karen was excellent at staying in touch with us throughout Truman’s stay and sent us photos and videos every day. Thank you for a great experience!
My little Maltese, Millie, had a great time at Karen's. Karen went overboard to make her feel at home. She sent pictures and videos and kept us very up to date. Millie seemed to feel right at home there. We will definitely use her again.
Karen's home is very warm and inviting and located in a lovely rural neighborhood. You can tell she is a lover of all animals. She took great care of Layla, my 8lb Shih Tzu and treated her like her own, Lucy. She even gave her an adorable ruffled animal print harness that I admired. I would recommend her to care for your pet, large or small.
We just had another great experience with Karen watching our Australian Shepherd puppy. I highly recommend her. I can't imagine someone more attentive and kind.

Your furred family members will become an extended part of our family. We never crate during the day. In the cases of overnights, if your pet is more comfortable with sleeping in their crate, that’s the only time he/she will be in their crate. We have no restrictions concerning pets allowed on the furniture. If your pet is comfortable sleeping in a bed, then that’s where they will sleep, with us.

Information Karen F. would like to know about your pet
I appreciate some detailed information about your pet: ie; Temperament of your pet (has your pet ever hurt another pet or person). Feeding and exercise schedule. Are vaccinations up to date, ( exceptions with some puppies ) General Veterinarian information (or I can use my Veterinarian in case of emergencies, Kingdom Animal Hospital, Clearbrook, VA). Is your dog crate trained? Unfortunately, for boarding, I am only available for small to medium sized dogs (up to 40 lbs) however, exceptions can be made for larger animals
A typical day
We will walk, run, play, brush, and special attention given with hugs and tummy rubs. Your dog will be loved here. A slow introduction to my pets (cats and my Lucy, a Toy Poodle).
