Pet care experience
I’d say I’m one part pet nanny, one part trainer (if needed) and one part companion. I do everything I can to gently coax your dog to relax while you’re gone. This includes a lot of exercise and cuddling! I have a lot of experience working with animals that have anxiety, separation, and other behavioral complexities. I have been working for regular clients and their referrals in the Oakland/Berkeley area. Local references available upon request.

Karen was such a fantastic sitter for Phoenix while I was away for 2 weeks! She sent me so many photos and updates which was so much appreciated and made the long time away less stressful. Phoenix has some behavioral issues and Karen not only watched him over the two weeks but observed his behaviors, worked with him to overcome some of his issues and left me detailed notes about changes I could make to help alleviate some of his high stress triggers. It was so great to know he was in such expert, thoughtful hands and helpful to me after my return too! I feel so lucky to have found Karen and definitely plan to hire her every time I have to be away from my furry little guy.

A typical day
If there are parks nearby we'll go there. Love playing fetch or anything your dog likes-they're pretty fun to play with, taking a rambling stroll, cuddling (of course!). I can also support training you've done or can gently help with simple training upon your request.

I do computer based work from home during the day, so I will be around a lot. I love dogs (animals in general) and love their company.
