Pet care experience
I had two dogs growing up: a black lab and a German shepherd, and now I miss them! I dog and house sat around my neighborhood as a side job for years. I have dog-sat every size, from 2 English Bull-Mastiffs to a little border terrier. Many of the dogs I have cared for have had specific dietary and medical needs and I am very comfortable administering meds and sneaking pills into treats :) I have frequently been handed detailed lists and schedules to stick to, so I am comfortable doing whatever it takes to make the dogs feel at ease in their routine. Very used to sending update pictures two or three times a day for peace of mind!

Kara dog sat for my two dogs this summer. She was phenomenal and the pups loved her! Kara came for a meet and greet before-hand and even brought a pen and paper to take notes. She was punctual and stayed in constant communication while we were on our trip. Our dogs really enjoyed the long walks Kara gave them. I will definitely be using Kara again!
Kara is a fantastic dog sitter. She has watched my black lab multiple times, often for a week or two. Her attention to detail: giving my dog medicine, taking her to the park, etc is really above and beyond. I completely trust her with my pet, and she has taken care of her since she was a puppy up until now (4 years old). She always comes over with a smile on her face and is willing to swing by if I need a last minute sitter or am simply running late. Highly recommend.
Kara is a great companion for a pet. She is caring and responsible. She understands the importance of play and took our dog on frequent walks. Kara is trustworthy with our home, keeping things clean and in good order. She is very sensitive to the needs of our dog and made sure she got her food, water and medications on time.

I love all breeds equally! Before sitting a dog I like to know what time they typically get up in the morning, if there are any meds they take, and of course the number of the vet in case of an emergency. Also helpful to know if the dog has a favorite toy to play with or if they need lots of walking/running (like for Huskies) to make sure they get plenty of exercise!
A typical day
I can take dogs out for walks in the neighborhood and out to any nearby parks. Love hiking through Griffith or walking along the beach if that's the neighborhood you're by. Comfortable taking dogs anywhere. Love playing with any toys: Kongs, rope bones, squeekys, balls, etc. While dog sitting I can be at the house full time, or part-time depending on what the dogs are used to. I am fine with working from the house if the dogs need full-time attention or care, and my schedule is very flexible. When watching the dogs I will put my schedule entirely around them, anything to make sure they feel like its just a typical, fun day!
