Kara house sat for us for 2 nights/days while we were on vacation. The first night she had people and another dog over at our house hanging out on our patio until at least 1am. Around this point our dog got sprayed in the face by a skunk, and the yelling from Kara and friends was loud enough to wake the neighbors. They brought the dog inside to clean her and the house and ...

Kara did a great job with our (rather finicky) cat! She made her visits twice a day as requested, and sent us photo updates every couple of days to reassure us that all was well.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Kara's relationships with animals is her deep feeling for them. There is a connection between her and any dog she has ever met; she seems to have a tangible understanding which is hard to explain. She respects them and they, in turn, trust her. In addition, Kara is punctual and thoughtful of their surroundings and their 'people'.

Since the very day I arrived home from the hospital, dogs have been my constant, humble companions. I am the only child in my family, so my first siblings and kindred protectors were our Chocolate Lab (Shadow) and Golden Retriever (Sunshine). Then I was six, at my request, we expanded our little family with a kitten. I've had these canine and feline friends to comfort me everyday, ever since. Later as I grew older I ...

What Kara would like to know about your dog

Any special accommodations or training/commands already being used, in order to maintain routine & consistency. Also, any temperament challenges or personality quirks that may be prudent to be aware of. I really require doing a "Meet & Greet" to make sure I'm a good fit for you and them. I'd like to know about their environment (if applicable), and things like: where their leashes and/or collars are located, as well as treats and toys; if they're friendly with other animals; what their "potty" routine is; if your pet requires medication, a list of current medications & dosing routines; etc. Emergency contacts info including Veterinarian is vital for me to know, as well as a schedule and detailed task list to refer to. I have owned some various dog breeds, but especially have a sweet spot in my heart for Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers, but also love Cocker Spaniels, Beagles, and Pugs. I'd be happy to meet any breed though, and overall just want to give them, and myself, an overall excellent experience, that's why I do what I do!
