Pet care experience
I have been caring for my rescue Captain since 2018, so I have experience with shy/reserved dogs, dogs that need medications and special accommodations, large dogs, and puppies. I also adopted my cat Phil from a local humane society, and we quickly became inseparable. I’m well versed in reading cat behavior and helping nervous animals feel at ease. I grew up with pets of all kinds, including hamsters, spiders, turtles, cats, and dogs. And I occasionally foster dogs and cats (never at the same time as your pets).

She was awesome! I was out of the country and she sent photos and updates everyday. When my flight got delayed she quickly responded to stay another night and was so helpful and took great care of my dog. She took extra steps to make sure our dog was in good hands while we were away!

Please alert me to any routines that are important for your pet to maintain. This would include meal times and quantities, behavior rules, exercise, and medicines. My schedule is very flexible, and I am more than willing to accommodate the various needs and desires for your pet! Please also let me know how your pet behaves around other animals! I am fortunate to have a dog and cat that love each other and new friends of all species. But I recognize that this socialization is not possible or wanted for some people’s pets, and that’s okay! I am always down for a low-stakes meetup between pets to discern their compatibility and to provide peace of mind ahead of confirming a booking. Just send a message my way! :)
A typical day
My dog loves getting out into nature, so if you are comfortable your dog (or cat!) is welcome to join us! We go to a different nature park pretty much every weekend. My apartment is always well stocked with toys and treats, and the public park across the street is an ideal setting to go on long walks for fresh air and exercise. I keep many “hiding places” clean and comfy at different heights in my home for kitty visitors to observe and play from a comfortable distance.

Availability
I work part-time at the Memphis animal shelter, so I am away during the day Friday to Monday. On these days, I am not able to provide midday services. Still, I always strive to maintain as much of your pet’s routine as possible. My own dog is quite active, so we frequent dog parks, nature trails, and local public parks. He gets multiple walks a day, and we are happy to have company!! My cat is very vocal around meal times and when she wants attention, so I have been trained to check-in with my kitty visitors multiple times a day if they are less vocal/shy.
