I have been a dog lover for 35 years. I used to volunteer as a dog walker with the Comox Valley SPCA. I am certified Dog Trainer (CCPDT-KA), Dog Walker and Pet First Aid. I only use a "positive reinforcement method" for training the dogs. I provide lots of mentally stimulating enrichment activities to make sure your dogs are happy and their needs are met. My focus is on quality more than quantity. I am fit, hard working and reliable. Available for weekdays, weekends and holidays. I am happy to exercise your dog, or drop in to feed, or play with them. Whatever specifics you need to know about your dog, I will note them. With me, your dog will not only get the exercise and companionship they need to stay happy and healthy, but you can be assured I am using the best, most current methods for positive handling. Kaoru was excellent with my energetic puppy. She was very accommodating to my requests and even took time to work on some training with my pup. She sent me many photos and updates on how the walk went which I really appreciated. I will definitely use Kaoru again!

A typical day
When I take a dog for a walk, I will always choose a different route and let the dog sniff as long as they want. Sometimes I will take a longline (up to 30ft) to let the dog do have a feeling of more freedom. This could be playing fetch, games and training (recall, sit-stay or teaching new tricks) Also I do let them explore new objects in the neighbourhood (xmas/halloween decorations) and make sure they are comfortable and having fun being there. Also I would be focusing on loose leash walk rather than following a tight leash to avoid reactivities.
