Pet care experience
My favorite thing about dogs is the companionship and love they give freely. I have always loved dogs because not only are they always ready for fun, they're always there for you when you're not feeling your best. I am always astounded by a dog's spirit, no matter what happens, they're still as happy as can be. I’m excited for every opportunity to sit because dogs always make my life a bit brighter! I do have a pup of my own that I’ve cared for for over three years, but we’re always happy to temporarily add another member to the family! I currently work from home, which allows me to have tons of flexibility with my schedule. It also makes me a great fit for pups that need a bit more attention and taking care of, or ones that just like to have some more company during the day! I always have a lot of fun spending time with pooches, and love to think of new things to do. If your pup is as curious as my own dog, I would do my best to keep his/her mind active either expending physical and mental energy. I would also take them on an extra long walk to give them lots to focus on and to expend some of that curious energy. I’m always happy to do a meet-and-greet before any stay begins. I don’t have any breed preferences and am comfortable with any and all kinds of pups! It’s always nice for me to make sure that we’re all a good match for one another, including whether my pup gets along with yours. They’re also great opportunities for me to get to know anything and everything about your dog so I can make their stay as perfect as possible! I love to go on walks out in nature. One of my favorite places to take my own dog is the Springwater Corridor Trail. It is a very long (over 21 miles) paved trail with the Springwater Creek that runs alongside it. It's wonderful for those on the East side of the Portland Metro area, running all the way from downtown Gresham to OMSI. I also love walking along the Willamette river waterfront on Saturday or Sunday mornings. It’s a great place to meet some new furry friends!
Reviews
We had a last minute need of a drop-in for our dog Pepper. Kalie replied super fast and came over that same day for a meet and greet. We didn't have to cancel travel plans and Pepper made a new friend. We got picture updates from the two drop-ins. It was really nice to not have to stress about being away from our pet with Kalie checking in on her.
Kalie did exactly what we asked of her and on the days we asked her to! We appreciate her! Thank you Rover for hooking us up with her! And Thank you again Kalie!
Kalie is the best of the best! We have done the drive to come home and let the dogs out for so long until one day our schedules kept conflicting and it was getting harder and harder to go home. We painstakingly reviewed so many candidates and just couldn’t make a decision until we landed on Kalie. We had a great feeling that she was going to be it and now cannot understand how we ever lived without her. She is amazing and ouhr dogs love her. Thank you so much Kalie!
Kalie was so great with Kiya while I was away! She worked with my schedule which changed with short notice and is flexible with times. Kiya gets food aggressive and Kalie did a great job keeping her away from her own pup when she was getting feisty and made sure to give Kiya space while she was homesick. She sent me great updates and photos of Kiya on her stay and I knew she was being well looked after! They had walks and got plenty of time in Kalies large back yard! Any dogmom or dogdad could feel very confident when leaving their pup with Kalie! Thank you again!

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: - Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? - Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? - Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? - What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? - What’s the best way to spoil your pup?
A typical day
For me, a typical day begins around 7am with some breakfast and a brisk walk. After that, I like to get a little work done while we cool down from the walk. After I’m finished up with my work, we could play or train in order to keep both our minds engaged and active. After a bit more work and activities, we could finish the day off with another walk followed by some dinner and quality time together reading or catching up on Netflix! In terms of exercise, I usually like to explore the neighborhood but if there is a dog park nearby (especially an enclosed dog park) I would always prefer to go there. Having a very curious dog of my own, I know how much dogs love to be let off leash and explore on their own. I love visiting the trails that I talked about above, and really value spending time exploring and getting to see some new sights and smells.
