Pet care experience
I am an avid animal lover with vet tech experience. Grew up with various pets in my household including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters/gerbils/rats; my love for pets evolved into a degree in animal science and a 10+ year career working with animals as a vet tech. My availability and accommodations are flexible. Walks can also include long hikes, runs, or trips to a dog park! I am comfortable administering medications (oral and injectable) and working with special needs pets. If your dog needs a bath, ears cleaned, teeth brushed, or their nails clipped, I can do that too. I am open to non-standard requests; doggy day care in your home, check-ins for animals other than dogs, or anything else you might come up with. Kali took care of our dogs for five days over Thanksgiving break. To get the pups comfortable before the extended stay, we scheduled two home visits (one at our home, one at hers), one full day of care, and one overnight. Kali was responsive and caring throughout the process. She took the dogs on regular walks every day, including visits to her neighborhood dog park (which is huge!) so that my larger pup could get some off-leash time. She sent regular updates, including pictures and videos. Our dogs were able to socialize with other dogs and people (and even a cat, which was new to them), and they were happy and tuckered out when we picked them up. Very glad we found Kali!
