Future vet tech and pet enthusiast

Pet care experience

CLOSED FOR FALL/WINTER DUE TO SCHOOL I've had dogs and cats for basically all of my life and have loved and cared for each of them! I also have veterinary experience, as that is my desired career path in the future. I have taken veterinary technician classes in high school, from freshman year to senior year, as well as job shadowing through Intermountain Vet Hospital and Meridian Vet Hospital. I do volunteer work through Meridian Canine Shelter, and I've been there since February of 2020. I am also certified through Kennel Maintenance on the online ACT veterinary program, which was required for my senior year vet tech class.

I hired Kaitlyn to house sit and watch over my two medium/large dogs. One is on oral medication twice a day. When I got home the dogs hadn't missed a beat if their routine! I look forward to hiring her for future dog sitting needs

Safety, trust & environment

We have a fenced-in but small backyard. Our yard is small, but we have a nice neighborhood with a park behind our house with a large field to throw a ball or let a dog run. My dogs are very nice and love to socialize with other dogs, but my cat has moods that vary! He usually gets along well with the dogs unless he is being chased or cornered by them. He has shown to be territorial with other cats, so bringing a cat to my house is not recommended. My parents are around, and they enjoy pets as well! Guidelines for the client will be followed, and I will give my best ability to do what I can during the evening and mornings after and before I leave for my vet tech externship.

Information Kaitlyn S. would like to know about your pet

I have no breed preferences- any dog is good in my books! I would love to know any general information about their day-to-day care and potential brief medical history if there is a concern that the owners would like to bring up with me!

A typical day

We can go on walks to the park close to my house, but there are also more parks to discover around the town! If your dog is comfortable with the car, then I would be more than happy to take them on a field trip to a park that is further away- or even get them a Puppachino through Dutch Bros! :) Throwing balls or disks is also on the list, but if they want to snuggle and relaxation, that is more than okay with me as well!
