I’m Kaitlen and I’m an avid dog lover, potentially bordering on the crazy dog lady territory. I’ve been using Rover for the past six years for my own dogs, and I’ve loved the care I’ve received. I have been doing Rover as a sitter for 2.5 years now, originally in Nashville where I went to graduate school and now in Vancouver, where I am from! My dogs love having new visitors come to our home, and we’ve even got a fenced-in yard perfect for pups to run around in. Growing up, I was always around dogs of every breed, size, and personality but my most extensive experience has been with dachshunds. I have two of my own and have fostered 23 dogs through All American Dachshund Rescue. I’m also familiar with hound dogs of many varieties, including Bassets, Coonhounds, and Beagles, as well as Golden Retrievers. However, as a long-time Rover sitter, I have encountered tons of different breeds, temperaments, sizes, and personalities! As a dog mom, my husband and I have rescued my 5 year old (Amp) and 13 year old (Niko), both dachshunds, and an 11 year old coonhound named Loki. All three of my boys love company and are sure to make your pup feel at home. My husband is regularly called a "dog whisperer," but I will be responsible for their care at all times! We also have a dog-loving roommate, but she is gone about half the time and will not take part in caring for your pups other than the occasional pet or love. During a stay, my number one priority is to make sure that my human and canine clients are completely comfortable and well taken care of. I communicate a lot with my clients by sending a text (with accompanying pictures!) every visit to let them know how everything is going and what we have been up to. I’m always happy to go the extra mile, so I’m all ears if there’s something that I can do to make your pup as happy as possible! You’ll love that I work from home most days, and your pet will have near constant supervision and attention. If I do have to leave, I’m never gone for more than a couple of hours at a time. I live in a beautiful, 1,600 square foot single-family home in near Heritage High School. My house is on a 1/4 acre corner lot with a great fenced-in backyard. There are plenty of places to walk nearby! I even have a doggie door and a full wooden fence that allows your pup to go in and out in a fully secure area. When I’m not pet sitting, I am a part-time consultant and part-time postdoc, so I spend a lot of my time at home working with my pups. I also love to travel whenever possible and spend time with my family and husband. I'm very active, whether that means running, going to the gym, or yoga. I'm an introvert so I love spending time alone, cuddling with my pups, with some popcorn and TV or a good book. Your pups would be welcome to join me in any of my dog-friendly activities.
