Loving Dog Mom With Pro Experience

Pet care experience

***I HAVE NO DOGS LIVING WITH ME. MY TWO DOGS CANT FLY SO THEYRE ON THE MAINLAND WITH MY MOM AND BROTHER, SO I ONLY HAVE MY TWO FRIENDLY CATS*** WHO AM I? Hi! I'm Kaile (Ki-la), or Auntie K, a born and raised mountain girl from Western Colorado. I grew up going back and forth between the mountains but I'm back here living with my dad in his apartment in Ko Olina. I'm a 32 year old former special needs teacher and animal shelter employee who is taking online classes for social work while living with my elderly dad to help him around the house. I specialize in pups that need extra attention. Whether they need to be around people all day because of temperament or separation anxiety, if they have problems being around other dogs, perhaps they're shy and skittish, or maybe they have other behavior problems, or whatever other special needs your furry family members have needs, my background working for the human society and working with traumatized rescue dogs and special needs little humans in preschool. Give me the knowledge, temperament and experience to ensure the best experience for your pups. Those dogs are what I'm here for. I base my scheduling and pricing on having one pup with me at a time (unless they're "sibling" dogs from the same ohana), and if there's an occasion for overlap with another dog it will only be if I've notified you beforehand and gotten your permission. Please also keep that in mind when you're comparing prices and other dog sitters, while possibly having a yard and all of whom are amazing, offer services for multiple, often up to 7 dogs, at the same time. WHAT YOUR PUPS DAY WITH ME WILL BE LIKE I might not have a yard but we're right on the beach as well as connected to a great walking trail system. I am at home all day every day, so I'm available for unlimited walks, hikes, potty breaks, whatever your pup needs. From the time you drop them off to the time you pick them up, I can guarantee I will be with them the entire time, playing ganes, going on walks or hikes, working on basic training, curled up on the couch for a nap or hanging out in the kitchen together as I cook dinner, feeding your pup in the kitchen so they're eating with me and my dad. ALL DAY ONE ON ONE EXPERIENCE! I will never leave your dog alone in my home, even if they are boarding over night. Many other area dog sitters work outside full time jobs, or are out of the house with their children for a good part of the day. They might require crate training, or will put your dog inside and be home only every 4-8 hours for a few short minutes for a quick shishi and water break. Would you pay for your toddler to be babysat all day with a family that, like yourself, works outside their home all day? Where they would leave your child in a locked room except for being let out twice a day for no longer than a potty and snack break? Why would you want the same for your fur baby? A DOG SITTING EXPERIENCE THAT'S LIKE A BABYSITTING/NANNY EXPERIENCE INSTEAD OF A GLORIFIED HOME BASED KENNEL I don't have children living with me and currently I don't have my own dogs here on the island with me. When you dog is here with me, they're with me the entire time and I treat them exactly like they're my own fur babies. My other tasks at home are minimal and allow me to keep a close eye on your pup, a combined 4 hours a week for an online college class and then cleaning and cooking for my elderly father as well as helping him with his health issues. This adds up to a portion of my day, while still giving me a chance to give your dogs the attention they need. The remainder of the time is free for walks, longer adventures and hikes, time for playing fetch or tug of war or whatever your dog's favorite game is and lots and lots of hugs and cuddles. When I'm not directly interacting with your dog I will always be keeping an eye on your pup wherever they are in our apartment. I won't lie, most of the time it's not difficult at all because I often find my new fur curled up beside me on the cool tile or in my lap. :-) That means the vast majority of the day is focused on and built around your dog, their favorite games, exercise and outdoor adventures tailored to your dogs needs, preferences and health. If your dog likes socializing with other dogs, instead ofbjust having another sitter leaving them at home alone all day with their own dogs, I am happy to take them the dog park as part of our day together for no extra charge. For my multiple night stays you will see a price of $40. This looks like a lot but what it covers is both the day and night. Normally that would be $28 and $30 respectively totally $58. $40 is my discount for my extended dedication stay ohanas. Please let me know if you have questions about this or any of my rates! BASIC TRAINING INCLUDED WITH ALL SERVICES! If you need or are trying basic training with your pup, I have trained many dogs, including aggressive Ines doing with trauma, abandoned reservation dogs and service dogs. I will incorporate this into our entire day and night together, with no additional charge! MY HISTORY WITH MY OWN DOGS- A RESCUE MOM AND FORMER ANIMAL SHELTER EMPLOYEE I've had rescue dogs (Weimeraners to be specific) as part of my family since I was a little girl. Now as an adult I am a trained volunteer at numerous animal shelters/humane societies across Western Colorado. I used to be a special needs preschool teacher and my passion for caring for creatures of all sizes, shapes and needs extends specifically to dogs. The dogs with trauma and behavior problems were the ones I specifically cared for when I worked at a local animal shelter in a Colorado mountain town. My current pups are still stuck in Colorado because of COVID but they are very happy living with my mom for now. My current fur babies are a rescue German Sheppard who almost died left in his kennel for 2+ weeks. He took an incredible amount of patience but he is worth it! I also rescued a terrier/cattledog mix from the Navajo Nation when I lived close by in Utah, she was starving, covered in ticks and fleas and thrown to her (supposed to be) death in front of me other highway out of a moving pickup. I didnt realize she was only two months old when I brought her to the vet and she's been with us since. I'm incredibly patient, absolutely adore dogs (and cats) of all shapes and sizes, and would love to provide personalized care for your furry family member! I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET YOUR FURRY BEST FRIEND!! ASK ME ABOUT MY MILITARY DISCOUNT! My dad is a full bird army colonel and I was raised in a military family so I like to help take care of our other armed services four legged family members!

This was fifth or sixth time stay with Kaile. She has been doing amazing job looking after my dog. She takes my dog to lots of walks too. Even our pick up schedule needed to change in last minute, she was so positive and flexible. You are the best and thank you so much all the time.

Kaile as the BEST to my sweet boy!! ????❤️ I was super nervous to do this because this was my first time ever to use Rover but after meeting her and dropping Tank off I just felt good vibes! From beginning to end she kept me up to date with very detailed updates about my dog! She sent me pictures all day and even a video!! ??? She took him on so many walks by the beach and I know he was having the best day with her! She even met me at 5am so it was awesome that she made that happen. If you are super picky and protective about your fur baby then Kaile is the girl to choose! Thank you SO much! - Courtney & Tank ?

Safety, trust & environment

Your pup's safety is my top priority. I live in a 7th floor condo with my father in Ko Olina. We have one lanai with sliding glass doors. I have an extra fence that I put up when I have tiny pups to keep them safe. We have one wide open room for the kitchen and living room so your dogs will always be in my sight even if I'm not directly interacting with them. I don't let any dog leave my front door without their collar and leash, and if they have one their harness. I go on lots of walks and adventures, even occasional runs and hikes depending on the dog and 'ohana wishes but I will never take them off leash. There is a dog park in Ewa that provides a secure off leash area. Its not somewhere I go often but with one of my regular pups, their parents okayed taking him there. I will only utilize this option after first speaking with you and getting your okay. I will only take one dog at a time (two if they're the same ohana) and always be with them. I know with COVID winding down socialization is a concern of many of our dog ohanas. I will sometimes have more than one dog staying with me. Most commonly its for an ohana with two pups. The other times they're dogs from two of my regular clients. I never have a new dog at the same time as another, even a regular. I like to spend time bonding with your pup and getting to know their personality and how they interact with other dogs. If they do well I will ask you if you're okay with your pup having playtime with another dog I know. Two of my regular pups are now BFF! Especially after COVID many puppy parents are concerned about their furry family member being socialized correctly. This is my aim whenever I have more than one dog. I never have more than one or two more, and I make it a point to provide even more direct interaction to help your dogs learn to or continue to socialize with their puppy friends in the safest and healthiest way possible! I have worked at the humane society in Colorado and volunteered in multiple shelters. I have basic dog and cat first aid training.

Information Kaile W. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if there's any health concerns (needing meds, avoiding exercise or heat) Also please let me know if there's any behavioral problems. I promise they won't scare me off!My own GSD who still lives on the Mainland with my mom, had unpredicatable aggression towards strange dogs. It took a lot of love, patience and work but we've made improvements! I don't mind caring for a difficult dog, I am a former special needs preschool teacher and employee at the Summit County (Colorado) Animal Shelter, so I have the experience. But I just need to know what the problem/trigger is and what works best to curb the behavior (for example avoiding dog parks, keeping a distance from other dogs even when leashed, whatever you've found that works best) to make sure your pup has the best possible experience with me!

A typical day

Whatever exercise is best for your pup, whether it's a short walk around the block for older, smaller dogs or an intense hike for big dogs full of energy. If there's special games your dog likes like fetch, or pretending you're a T-Rex and chasing him around (that's what my crazy GSD Alvin loves) please let me know! Same goes for favorite treats, favorite places to go, anything that your dog specifically loves no matter how detailed or unusual it may be, I want to know so your dog can have the best possible time with me. I can even take your dogs to the beach or on trail hikes. For dogs who need a lot of exercise I'm happy to take your eager pup on 2+ mile 2 hour + long trail hikes with your dog all included. I've hiked with dogs all over the Rocky Mountains, the Four Corners and from the ocean to the mountains of O'ahu, so I have the trail experience to keep your dog happy and safe!
