I had a very mixed experience with Kagen. On the first day, despite me saying we were leaving early in the morning and Luna would need to go out when they got to the house midday, they didn’t let Luna out, so it was 14 hours until Luna had a potty break. I also had to ask for updates other than a singular photo sent each day. When I met Kagen before our trip, she alluded to the fact that her partner would be over (asked how Luna does around men), but it was not clearly communicated that he would also be living at the house for the week and doing a lot if not most of the dog care. (I’m basing this off who we saw taking Luna out the most.) I was very surprised that the first person to stop by was her partner (saw on Ring camera) and that he was there alone from what I could tell. Now, Matthew seems lovely and was very helpful, but this was a surprise and never communicated to us. I appreciated him checking on our Ring camera when it stopped working and taking the trash bins back up to the house on Friday. When we got home there were lights left on all over the house. A basement light was on in a room that there wasn’t really a need to be in. I asked about it and I guess Luna wanted to go down to the basement on the first day. Based on that explanation, the basement light was left on from Saturday until Wednesday. The lights were also left on in our primary bathroom as well as the upstairs guest room. Our pup was taken care of and was fine, but there was minimal communication about how she was doing during the week, and zero upfront communication that it was mostly her spouse that would be watching our dog.

Kagen was awesome, coming by on somewhat late notice. I really appreciated her help and patience!!!
