I can't think of any better reason why I want to be a dog sitter, I love dogs. They light up the room every time a person walks in. I have heard some sad stories and I want to provide the best care I can give because I know I would not mistreat a dog. My family has a hyper-active dog (German Short Haired Pointer), she requires a lot of exercises. I am used to waking up early in the morning to give her a walk before her breakfast. An afternoon walk tend to be a bit longer than the morning one. The night walk is shorter for safety reasons. What sets me apart from other sitters is that I am very caring person, I am committed, and I observe very well. There was a time where my friend went to walk a dog she takes care for, and I tagged along. I noticed the dog was hurt before she ever did, and I informed her. She didn't think there was anything wrong until she really observed. I kept telling her to tell the owner. For me, God forbid but if I notice a dog is hurt, I will tell the owner immediately. I also really enjoy being around dogs, so I would really enjoy this job very much. A pet's routine really depends on the owner and the dog's desire, habit and needs. Some dogs require more exercises than others, and some can't handle exercises. I would walk them around a block, and if they want to play fetch, I will definitely do that too. Sometimes I run along with my dog because it helps her go to bathroom quicker and she LOVES running. I would LOVE to hike with a dog, but that really depends on the dog and the owner. Depending on the neighborhood, but I would take them for a walk around the block or to a park nearby and play some games. I can only go back and forth since I just got myself a puppy! However, to give a direct attention, I would be able to do possibly a few 1-2 hours a day at the most. 30 minutes to an hour walking (depends on how big the block is and depends on the dog), and some time of playing and petting. I won't bring a dog to my house, but it is possibly that I would ask an owner if I could bring a friend over for some more company and more playing time for the dog. I am very excited to meet some new dogs and play with them!
