Dog Trainer & Animal Lover!
Pet care experience
Hi! I'm an animal lover and dog trainer who received initial training from Petco and continued on to freelance work. I have had multiple dogs from childhood to adulthood and cats in my adulthood. I am able to administer medication and work with difficult animals, though I do need to be notified of difficulties and medications ahead of time. As a calm, confident trainer/person I find that most dogs and cats really like me :) and I always like them too. I have an anxious dog that only trusts me and one other person, so I do truly understand needing a person who is willing to become friends with your animal as slowly or quickly as they need. I just graduated from college with a B.S. in Sustainable Food Systems! Since I'm graduated, I work part time so it's best for each person to reach out to me for availability. I have a flexible schedule and I'm sure we can figure something out together <3.

Kacey was wonderful. Really appreciated all she did with Zeus. He became very fond of her..
My pups loved their walk with Kacey! She’s very sweet and knowledgeable, I felt totally comfortable with her right away (so did the dogs!) highly recommended her, we’ve already schedule again. Thanks Kacey!
Wonderful
Kacey did a great job when I used her. I will definitely be requesting her again!

When I care for pets on walks and drop in visits, I make sure they feel calm by reading body language and "asking" permission to pet them and get closer to them with my body language (this is me working as slowly or as quickly as the animal needs). I like to ask if there is anything the pet parents want me to stay away from while in their house with their pets and I work based on their comfortability. Communication is key.
Information Kacey G. would like to know about your pet
No dog breed is better than another, so I am happy to work with all breeds. I like to know what the pet parents' and dogs' experiences are with trainers and training so I have a good feel for the level of training the pups have had. Just like humans, pets have triggers and I will ask about them so that I can properly take care of your dog. Allergies, medications, and who your veterinarian is is also very important to me. I also love to know what your pet loves! If they're food motivated, treat motivated, or other. The more I get to work and play with different dogs, the more I learn, helping me become a better pet sitter and trainer.
A typical day
I like to ask the pet parents where they like to go with their dogs and go to similar spots. I also like to ask if the parents are ok with me going on walks in new places before going to them! That means finding out how comfortable their dogs are with car rides.

I have a dog of my own and make sure to play as much as I can with him to get his energy out every day since he is part boxer with an ungodly amount of energy. Exercise is important! When I take care of other pets, I like to talk to the pet parents about their schedules and exercise routines before doing anything on my own. I also like to give tips on how much exercise each breed needs and the type of play works best with each breed.
