Pet care experience
Hello fellow pet lovers, my name is Justin! I suppose we should jump right into it, so let me tell you a little bit about my past history with pet-sitting. When I was 12 years old, neighbors living on the same block as my parents would hire me to care for their pet(s) while they were out of town, or on vacation. After moving out of my parents place, I continued to pet-sit for friends whenever they needed it, as I am truly passionate about helping animals live the happy, carefree life they deserve! I'm 32 years old now, and live in South Saint Paul with my wife and dog, 'Roxy'. Chances are if you live in the area you've seen me walking Roxy with her bright pink harness, or walking my previous dog, Duke (big brindle guy, R.I.P). Other than working at a school very early in the morning (I'm guessing I'm home before most are out the door in the a.m.), I'm home all day, so my availability is very open! Also, I can provide you with references from pet owners that I've done pet-sitting for in the past (as recent as less than year ago). I walk Roxy at least 3 miles a day (weather permitted), so I love walks and would love to have other walking companions as well! Having a dog myself, I understand the anxiety that comes along with making sure your pet receives the best care possible, so whatever I can do to help ease that anxiety I will do! I also know what it's like to trust a stranger to come into your house while you're not home, so please believe me when I tell you I'm very trustworthy and like I said before, very passionate about helping pets live a truly happy life! In 2016, Justin received a Bachelor of Science Degree with distinction from the University of Minnesota. Justin’s education centers on youth development, which he puts to good use working at his local YMCA in their children’s sports and after school programs. Justin loves dogs, and what he loves he studies. He has educated himself extensively about canine behavior and proper care. I have observed that he and his wife Molly cared compassionately and sensibly for their dog Duke who tragically succumbed to AIHA last summer. During Duke’s life, he was lovingly cared for which included regular veterinary care. Justin and Molly now have a new canine companion named Roxy, and I know that she will receive all the loving care that she needs to live a happy healthy life. John S

First and foremost, I'd like to know what makes your animal feel the most comfortable. Honestly, a face-to-face meet and greet would be the best so we can hash out all the details when it pertains to what you're looking for when I am caring for your companion (plus I get to meet them!!!). I have no breed preference, I accept them all!
A typical day
When I take your dog for a walk I will switch up the routes in order to give them new experiences, smells, and sights. Along with the physical benefits of a walk, I understand dogs need a good amount of mental stimulation as well. So by switching the route we take, it will give your companion a new surrounding, making those neurons in their brain work overtime! When I stop over to let your dog out, or feed your cat, they are my number one priority at the time. They will have 100% of my attention, and of course will receive all of the love they are comfortable with. I understand some animals are OK just keeping to themselves, so in no way will I ever overwhelm your pet. My objective is to make sure your pet receives the best care possible. I will ALWAYS make sure there is fresh water in their bowl, food is given if instructed, and follow any other special instructions when it comes to their care.
