I've always had dogs in my life, and admittedly I probably love dogs more than humans. I enjoy giving dogs lots of positive reinforcement and watching them get excited knowing they did good. I owned/lived with a corgi, starting as a puppy, for three years, and was able to learn so much about how to teach tricks, potty training, how to be a leader for her, etc. That experience got me to put in a lot of time researching and understanding how to properly take care of dogs. Like how to positively reinforce things that you want your dog to do, and not negatively reacting when they make mistakes. Just being patient, and also not overloading a dog with new information, is key. Also recently have been walking my brother's dog, and she has quickly picked up on not pulling on the leash, and am now focusing keeping her focused when distractions are around.
