Hello! New to the Rover community, but I have over two decades of experience caring for and keeping dogs, whether they be my own or a friend's. I am an extremely caring, nurturing soul who is very calm and laid back, likes to be outdoors as much as possible, and loves animals of all kinds - especially pups! Whether walking or sitting your dog, my first concern is their safety. After that, it's exercise and fun! Most recently, I have been caring for several of my friends' dogs, mostly sitting them, and it's been wonderful! Depending on the dog, walks have included strolls through areas of the neighborhood with less traffic, visiting parks and trails and getting social at the bark park. I am very interested in keeping up with and reinforcing any training your pup might be going through. I have been able to do this in the past and I've found that the consistency works wonders. You can expect lots of photos and updates on how things went as I think it's important that the owner be a part of the activity, even if you can't be there in person. In my profile photos you'll see Penny. When we met, Penny was not good on a leash and when off of the leash in the yard, she would jump the fence and take off. Also, she was very anxious to the point that she was actually shedding a bit on her back. A very sweet girl, but obviously had some issues. I'm not claiming to be a dog whisperer or anything, but after a few weeks of consistent care, she turned into an entirely different dog altogether. She became calm and obedient on a leash, would relax with me in the yard off of her leash/tether while I worked and her fur even came back! Today, she's doing just as well, I'm happy to report.
