Dog Vaca:Huge Yard, pool, FUN, LOVE

Pet care experience

When I was in my 30's we received a Canine Companion for my autistic daughter. Malik was a beautiful black lab. We spent 14 days, 8 hours a day learning dog psychology and learning to work with our dogs and teach them new commands. We had to pass a test in a busy mall at the end where Malik could not even sniff french fries right next to him! We had to retest yearly as part of service dog certification. Through this training and as the main partner in our team (my daughter gave the good stuff... food, love and brushing) I was able to learn how to work with dogs. I have since watched a few of my good friend's dogs... a water dog mix, a pug and a 3 legged Yorkie (He cannot walk on a leash, as he can only run, but he and Malik loved to play together!). I now live in a 4 bedroom house on Indian River Drive and I have a huge fenced back yard and a swimming pool. I do rent 2 bedrooms on Airbnb, so there could be other people and their pet(s) on the property. I have created a pet-friendly home, so my guests can bring their dogs and I will still have room for a few dog guests. We lost Malik in 2014 and I miss him so much but I have not been able to get another dog to replace him. I do not know if it is because he was irreplaceable or if I am afraid to love another great dog and then lose him. I have decided that I should get my dog love taking care of other people's dogs and provide the fun-loving environment that I found for Malik years ago through a service like Rover. I am semi-retired and home all day. I am really looking forward to having dog guests in my doggie paradise home!

Julie is amazing! She has the best backyard for dogs to run around in, she plays and cuddles with them, and sends tons of pictures. My dogs have separation anxiety, but much of that was alleviated, because Julie takes such good care of them.

Julie just loved Aiko and spoiled her like a princess during her stay. Aiko enjoyed the huge back yard :)

I have known Julie for about 10 years she is very kind person with a very kind heart that loves people and animals. She has a big back yard with a new fence, that my dog Tina loves to run around in. When the swimming pool cleaner is running it squirts water out and Tina will watch it a wait for the water to squirt out and try to catch it. I would recommend her to any one to watch their dog. She used to have black Labrador retriever service dog that loved to play fetch and jump in the water for her daughter who is party blind. It broke both of their hearts when he died. So watching your dog will help fill that empty spot.

Julie has been taking excellent care of our cats and dogs for a number of years, and I enthusiastically recommend her pet sitting services. Leaving town can be very stressful, but I am always comfortable that our kits and pups (and our house) are in good hands when Julie is sitting.

Information Julie W. would like to know about your pet

I will want to know what your dog likes and dislikes, their typical schedule at home and what kind of disposition they have. As it is possible that there will be other pets and/or children in the home, I cannot board any dogs with aggressive behaviors. I will suggest a meet and greet before any lodging over a night or two. It is rare I meet a friendly dog that I do not like, so I am not going to rule out any breed of dog at this point. Your dog must be up to date on his vaccinations and flea treatments, so please bring this paperwork to meet & greet or when coming for a stay. My goal is to keep al my 4 legged guests healthy and comfortable.

A typical day

I live in a beautiful neighborhood, so I will walk your dog in my neighborhood. Our street is a National Scenic Byway, so it is perfect for long walks with a breeze off the river. I also have large backyard with a pool for dogs who can swim. There will be ball throwing as well as any activities that your dog loves. I will be looking for input from you on your dog's likes and dislikes and what their routine is at home. My goal will be to keep this as consistent as possible to alleviate the stress of being in a different home. My lap is open to any dog. If I could handle Malik (75 lb lab) lay on my lap, I can handle any size dog that wants some extra loving. Dogs will be allowed everywhere in the house and yard except for the two Airbnb guest rooms.
