My Passion is taking care of pets! My pets are my kids. I learned from growing up with dogs and cats that were always treated as part of the family. I have spent the last 19 years taking care of other people's "furry kids", and loved every minute! I am offering: House sitting in YOUR home for your dog or dogs that would love my dog Karma to join the slumber party! She's 8ish years old, very mellow, Australian shep mix and has hung out with over 50 dogs in her life with me. Mid day dog walks and drop in cat visits conclude the services that I offer at this time. NE heights, high desert, Sandia heights and surrounding areas... Summary of Professional Experience: I have been in the pet care industry since 2001. I owned my own upscale pet resort and spa in the Tampa area for 6 years. I took 2 years off after selling my pet resort to study Warm Water Therapy for Dogs, Healing Touch For Animals among other modalities. I am certified in Dog and Cat CPR and First Aid, and have taken the courses many times over the years. I have done pet sitting in other people’s homes as well as my own for over 10 years in Colorado. I managed a Doggie Day Care Center in Fort Collins, Co. before moving to the mountains to start my own business in pet sitting, boarding and dog swim therapy. We relocated to Albuquerque in late September of this year to be closer to family. I have over 18 references available upon request. More details on services that I am offering in New Mexico: House/pet sitting: Available for vacationers lasting a week or longer. My dog Karma is 8 years old and has shared homes with countless dogs over the last 7 years. She will be accompanying me on house sits so we will limit this service to a minimum of 2 nights or longer in homes that would welcome us both. No puppy sits please as Karma is an older dog who prefers mellow playmates! Depending on when you book, I usually only take 1 job at a time and spent 21-24 hours a day at your home with your dog(s)! I am currently also offering dog walks and cat visits mid day only, so depending on your dates and location, I may have to step out for a few hours for these appointments. I am willing to drive to Santa Fe, Taos and surrounding areas for a minimum of 7 days or longer. Extra travel fee may apply. If you have an indoor heated pool and are interested in dog swim therapy please mention it when we meet.

Julie took such good care of our Buddy. I called Julie shortly after moving into our area and needed a dog sitter. She came, met Buddy and the rest is history. Buddy loved her and I could tell from the many pictures she sent while she was with him that he was very comfortable with her. She was always available and spent enough time with him so he could get out and do his biz and get some air. Julie recommend some vitamins for Buddy as he got older that really made a difference. So I trusted her with the care of my best friend. Thank you Julie, I wish you success!
I forgot to mention in my first recommendation that Julie also took care of my granddog for two weeks. That dog is a jerk (language heavily edited for a public forum), and she got Blue to behave decently and not always be his usual boorish self. So, even if you have a "problem child," one who is ill-mannered or simply poorly trained, nothing fazes Julie. She has encountered it all, and every dog I've ever seen has responded well to her warmth and nurturing. Dogs know dog people when they encounter them, and Julie is definitely a dog person.
I have two special needs senior dogs. One is a 15-yr old golden retriever mix with elbow dysplasia, arthritis, and an autoimmune disease. The other is a 12-yr old terrier with diabetes who is blind. The little old lady needs several pills with her breakfast and dinner, and the diabetic needs a shot with each meal. As one might imagine, I am extremely particular about whom I trust to take care of these precious babies when I have to be out of town. Julie is the ONLY one I completely trust with them. She not only tends to their medical needs, but she plays with them and treats them like her own. They absolutely love going to spend time with "Aunt Julie," and I absolutely love that I do not have to worry for even a minute about the care they're receiving. She does an extraordinary job of communicating with me about how they're doing, and she sends ton of pictures in addition to her social media postings. She also stayed in my house with her dog Karma for an extended period while I was in Yellowstone. I could not get email, text, or facebook updates in the National Park, and yet I still did not need to worry. She took as good of care of my home as she did my babies, and Karma was an excellent houseguest. I have total trust and faith in Julie, and I wholeheartedly recommend her.
I got to know Julie when she operated a doggie swim and warm spa business. We had a 15 year old dog, Cami, that had hip problems. The warm water bath and massage that Julie did worked wonders for Cami. We then started to use Julie for dog care when we went out of town. Cami needed a lot of special attention due to her age and degrading health. Julie never hesitated to provide whatever care Cami needed (picky eater, didnt like to take her pills, had accidents inside, had to be carried down the steps). I knew when we left Cami with Julie that she would be safe and well cared for, I never had to worry.
