Let Us Spoil Your Pet!

Pet care experience

We absolutely LOVE animals! We currently have 3 of our own: 1 English Mastiff, 1 American Staffordshire Terrier (Pit Bull), and 1 Boxer. We are comfortable caring for tiny dogs; giant dogs; cats; and pocket pets. We understand how stressful it is to leave your pet so frequent pics and updates will be sent so you can see how your pet is doing while you are away. As a retired nurse, Julie is comfortable giving medications, and caring for your animal with special needs. She has experience with diabetic pets, paralyzed pets, pets with cancer, arthritic pets, pets with neurological disorders, and pets in pain or in palliative/hospice care. Mike is also comfortable caring for pets requiring medical interventions. We volunteer with a local rescue and are comfortable with all kinds of dogs and temperaments. We have lots of experience with dogs that have separation anxiety, have suffered trauma, and those with behavioral challenges. Julie is a member of Pet Sitters International and attends ongoing education so that she keeps up to date on the latest information regarding pet care and training.

Julie and Michael are top notch. We had Michael stay with our two high energy dogs for a week and I'm pretty sure they didn't miss us at all 😊. Michael sent us photos and videos of the dogs being loved and having a great time. We came home to a clean house and two very happy dogs!!!! Thank you Michael !!!

Julie house sat for us over a weekend and took the best care of our two dogs. She provided regular updates, and was very responsive throughout the weekend. One of our two is a very anxious little guy who gets stressed out when Mom and Dad are away, and Julie handled him with the care and love he needed to stay comfortable while we were away. Further, the home was clean and tidy up on our return with nothing out of place. We would 100% recommend Julie for your house sitting and dog sitting needs.

Julie was great and patient with our dogs. She kept in touch with us while we were out of town and sent pics! Our first experience with Rover didn't disappoint. We’ll definitely request Julie again, thank you!!

Information Julie & Michael G. would like to know about your pet

If your dog will be staying at my home, I would like to plan a meet and greet with my pets to make sure they’re compatible. At this time I only provide limited boarding in my home. With 3 dogs of my own, small or senior dogs are preferred for boarding. Prior to caring for your pets at your home, I prefer to meet you and your fur babies prior to initiating care so they can get to know me and we can review the details of their care. Some of the information I would like to know prior to beginning care for your pet(s): What breed and gender is your pet? Age? Have females been spayed and males neutered? Do they have a microchip? Let me know what activities your dog/cat enjoys. Please list any behavioral issues: biting, nipping, aggression (towards other dogs, people, cats, small animals, etc), food or resource guarding (toys). Is your pet sight or hearing impaired? What type of food does your pet eat? Are there special feeding instructions? How often do you feed your pets? What time do you feed meal (s)? How much food is provided at each meal? Are treats allowed? Any restrictions on treats? Does your pet have any food sensitivites/allergies? Is he/she food aggressive? Is pet allowed on furniture? Any restrictions? Is pet crate trained? Is pet potty trained? How does dog tell you he/she needs to go out to potty? Is there aggressive behavior toward other dogs or cats? What are possible triggers? Any human aggressive tendencies? When do you typically let out in am? When is bedtime? Do you have a “doggy door”? Is pet scared of thunderstorms, fireworks or anything else? What usually comforts him/her? Is there a history of separation anxiety? How can I make your special friend feel safe and secure while you are away? Do you regularly walk your dog? How long? Where? Can I take your furbaby to a dog park? What type of leash do you typically use (slip lead, traditional, etc)? Do you use a collar or harness? Does dog pull? Should I avoid walking near busy street, other dogs, etc. Are there any medical issues, meds to be given (if so, name of medication, dose, route (orally, by injection, subcutaneously, intravenously) and schedule? If pet takes oral (by mouth) medications, how do you administer (put in food bowl at mealtime, put in pill pocket, put in peanut butter, cheese, etc)? Who is your vet? Please provide contact information. Is pet up to date on all vaccinations? Heartworm testing? Bordetella (kennel cough)? Is pet on heartworm and/or flea and tick prevention? When was last dose? Where is the nearest emergency clinic? Do you have any special instructions in the case of an emergency? May I administer over the counter medication(s) if needed (aspirin, benadryl)? Please provide any information that will make your pet(s) stay/care safer and more enjoyable.

A typical day

We feel it’s important to maintain your pets’ typical routine as much as possible so we will strive to adhere to their usual schedule to the best of our ability. We will play frisbee or ball, cuddle and love on your pet and follow any other instructions you have for us. We can go for walks around the neighborhood, OP Schnabel, a park near you, or go to a dog park. Just let me know what you and your dog enjoy/want. If you and your pet hire me for “drop in” visits, I won’t just feed and leave. I will spend a minimum of 30 minutes with your fur baby cuddling and loving your pet. I frequently stay longer to provide extra socialization. For cats I will feed and provide fresh water, scoop litter box, play and cuddle. Dogs will be fed, given fresh water, and will receive cuddle and play sessions. Your precious pets will be treated with kindness, patience, and the kind of care I would want for my own babies.
