Pet care experience
I have been an animal lover for as long as I can remember!!! Although I did not grow up with animals, once I became an adult I was always surrounded by furry friends big and small. I have had birds, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, geckos, dogs, and cats, so in essence nothing is outside my comfort zone! I will care for your animal as my own and provide the best pet care and companionship while you are away, whether it be for a day or a week. You will be rest assured that your beloved pet or pets will be taken care of with the utmost love and care. What I find to be the most beneficial for animals to help them get accustomed to a new person while you are away is being present and patient. I love getting down on the floor with animals and just playing and getting to know them, while they build a trusting relationship with someone new!

This was my first Rover experience and I was really pleased with Julie’s care of our young dog. He’s rather boisterous and Julie made us feel comfortable leaving him with her and sent many photos. Our dog was happy to see us but happy with Julie as well so a win win all around. We’ll definitely ask Julie to care for our pooch again. ?
Julie really went the extra mile to help our dog have a happy and comfortable time while we were away. Very thoughtful, proactive and resourceful with deep knowledge and a great connection with dogs.
Julie provided "drop-in" visits for our cats. She was very punctual and ensured our cats were fed on time. She is very friendly with pets and quickly became very pally with the cats. They loved playing with her when she was visiting. Julie is very dependable and kept us up to date with all visits. I'd highly recommend her.
Julie was great for my two pups! She was on time and kept me updated with pictures and details of her visit! Really glad to find someone reliable and kind to my puppies!

I live on an acre in the Sourland Mountains with a fenced in backyard. I am also able to take your dog on a leashed walk. If your dog enjoys hiking, I am not too far from the Sourland Mountain hiking preserve and could always use a hiking buddy! When I am home, your dog will feel at home and is welcome to join me on the couch or we can play outside. I find the company of animals joyful and peaceful and will treat your pet as my own!

Please let me know how your dog gets along with other dogs, as well as what may frighten your dog, such as thunderstorms or loud noises. Does your dog enjoy long walks, hiking, or shorter walks? What special needs should I be aware of, such as needing medication at a specific time. It would be very helpful to be as detailed as possible so I can make your dog comfortable and at ease.
A typical day
I love giving dogs the opportunity to sniff and explore this bucolic country setting. We can walk through my property or go hiking in the Sourland Mountain preserve.

Availability
I am currently working full time, as I am a teacher and have availability on the weekends to care for your pet. After June 20, 2022, I work very limited hours (mornings only). I am able to care for your dog prior to leaving for work and will return home by 12pm and spend the afternoons and weekends at home.
