Fenced yard, safe and happy dogs!!
Pet care experience
I’m a recently retired registered nurse, so I now have lots of time to spend with my furry friends. I come from a dog loving family and have always cared for multiple dogs at one time. I currently have three friendly little dogs who would welcome an occasional visitor. My house is dog friendly, no couch or bed is off limits. My husband will also be available to give lots of attention to any furry visitors. No one is ever lonely at my house, always a dog or human friend around. If one should think of running away they won’t get far because the back yard is fenced. But who would want to run when they’re having so much fun!

Julie is SO amazing! The TLC she gave to our Sienna was truly home sweet home! We can’t say enough how grateful we are! She sent us pics while we were away and we came home to such a happy pup! 5 stars all the way!
Julie and Charles were wonderful! We had never left our dogs with a dog sitter before, and we felt so comfortable and happy to know that they were so well taken care of and having fun. Ruby and Stewart made new friends and loved being on“vacation” :) Julie communicated with us very well and sent photos. They were both so kind and conscientious, and took great care of our pups. We would love for them to stay again sometime- highly recommend!!

My Dachshund Lager, was content staying with Julie and Charles. Julie texted pictures of Lager, which made me feel confident he was in good hands. He got along with the other dogs ok. No problems. If we need to use a sitter in the future, we will definitely use them again!

I want crate trained dogs, but the only time they are put in the crate is if I’m leaving the house or during feeding ( otherwise my dogs may sneak a bite of their meal). Dogs that I know and I trust alone haven’t gone in the crate at all. Since my husband can work from home there aren’t long periods of crating. I walk my dogs almost every day with my husband unless it is too cold or too hot, and I usually bring my dog guests along. The dogs also have opportunities for some fresh air in the fenced backyard.

Since I have dogs of my own, I only want dogs that enjoy the company of other dogs and get along well with other dogs. I’d prefer dogs my dogs size of 30 pounds or less. Since my dogs are older, I prefer calm dogs, not high energy dogs.
A typical day
My dog visitor will join in on the fun that my dogs regularly have, which may be a walk in the woods at Lapham Peak or a walk around the block by my house. Sometimes we take long hikes at the Nordic trail in Palmyra or Scuppernong in Ottawa, but it will be up to my visitor’s owner to let me know what activities they’re allowed to partake in. One of my dogs loves playing ball and wouldn’t mind if our visitor wanted to run after the ball as well.

I currently work only two days a week and they are generally short shifts, I’ll be retiring summer of 2022. So I have lots of home time to spend in the company of my dogs and an occasional dog friend.
