MUST READ!!! My husband and I have five great boys and a wonderful dog, Lacy (from Hanover Shelter - a lab mix). We have a lot of acres for your pup to run around with our boys, however, we have moved and DO NOT have a fence (If you look through our Rover pictures, you will see a large fenced in yard from our PREVIOUS house). We will take your dogs on leash walks or if they can be off-leash they can spend more time outside with us as we do yard work and just play outside. Lacy comes with us outside without a leash. Without a fence to "catch" our Rover friends, I just cannot have runners. My boys are awesome with watching our friends, but there can still be a squirrel and a hard pull leading to an accidentally dropped leash. This is why I require a pup to not be a runner. I am a stay at home Mom and my husband also works from home. Although we are typically home, dogs must be potty trained, spayed/neutered, up to date with Heartgard and flea/tick treatments. In the case of puppies, we require they can be crate trained at night. We would like you to be able to enjoy your vacation knowing your dog is being well taken cared of and being treated as part of our family. We will send you pictures and updates while you are away.

Julie and her Boys are always our go to when in the Richmond Area. Such a kind and loving family that’s taken excellent care of our extremely active and rambunctious Mini Aussie😬 Dog Parents can feel very comfortable knowing they’ll be left in such great hands and Happily kept in the Loop with pictures and updates through the stay. If there’s availability at this Doggy Inn I’d suggest locking it in sooner than later!
Julie was a great rover. She sent me regular updates on the stay and made sure that my nervous pup was able to become comfortable with her family. Definitely recommend.
We cannot say enough good things about Julie and her family. We planned for the trip together and she made adjustments on the fly with my puppies that were so thoughtful. It was a perfect retreat for the dogs and we would 1000% use them again.

We do require you to bring your dog over to our house to meet Lacy and our boys prior to us sitting for your dog. It is also very important to us that your dog be neutered/spayed and up to date with heartguard and flea/tick treatments. As we take care of your dog, we also want to make sure to take care of our family and home. We are not able to accept dogs that have accidents in the house or dogs that do not get along with children or other dogs. Additionally, please let us know if your dog chews or has any known anxiety issues. With us knowing beforehand any concerns, we are able to be proactive in working with your dog.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks Our land is spacious. In addition to walks, we are outside A LOT and Lacy is right there with us. Our boys LOVE to play fetch. We truly are doing this because we love our dog and our dog just loves other dogs! :) Time I'll spend with your dog All day. I stay at home with my boys. We enjoy playing outside and Lacy, our dog, plays with us. Your dog will be treated like family (and typically more special since they are here as a NEW guest). :) We are only out of the house for at most a few hours at a time, if we are even out of the house. Playing with the pups is very enjoyable for us. We know our dog is happy when she gets lots of exercise and fresh air.
