Pet-Loving Sitter Available 24/7
Pet care experience
I am a dog and cat lover. I've cared for kittens, puppies, grown cats and dogs, and fish. I grew up with pets and currently pet sit for a chihuahua. I'm available any day/night. I don't have any pets right now, so no worries about conflicts. I have a graduate degree in healthcare/human services. I have flexible working hours at my regular job, so I would have time throughout the day/night to care for your loved ones :) Looking forward to hearing from you! Why I love dog sitting I have always absolutely loved dogs! I have pet-sit on many occasions throughout my life, including during my teen years, and have worked alongside a professional dog-sitter/walker business owner before. I have experience with many types of dogs, both large and small. I feel most comfortable with small-medium dogs, such as Australian Shepherds, Chihuahuas, Lhasa Apsos, Shih Tzu's, Yorkshire Terriers and Black Labs. I also have experience with dogs who have health problems and a traumatic past. I feel comfortable caring for dogs with special needs. About my yard It's a large backyard. Very spacious. It's not fenced in, so I would not let the dog out without me with him/her and without him/her being leashed. I do have a tall post I could tie the leash around so the dog could be more free if he/she is used to that and if the owner prefers that. However, I would plan on keeping the dog with me and on a leash for safety, unless otherwise instructed from the owner. My experience administering medication Yes. I've administered oral medication to cats and dogs before. I've never injected a medicine, but with training from the owner I would feel comfortable doing so if needed.
Reviews
Julie and her family were great keeping my boy for a couple of days. She was very caring and the communication from the initial booking until pick-up day was great. I received pictures and text messages everyday, which help ensure my pup was doing fine. I highly recommend booking Julie if you have the opportunity.
She did an excellent job watching my cat for the day! Thanks again!
Julie was great with Trudy! I completely messed up the dates and she was able to take her without a moments notice which was just amazing. Trudy loved her stay and was welcomed into the home like a member of the family. Will definitely use her again!!!
Stanley had a very nice stay with Julie. She was very conscientious about our instructions (regarding feeding, toys, etc) and had a calm demeanor that put Stan at ease. Stan also got along well with her nephew, who was very sweet. Also, Julie was flexible about the pickup and drop off times. Thanks!

Information Julie A. would like to know about your pet
I'm open to sitting for just about any dog- I really love being around dogs :) It would be helpful to know if he/she is house-trained and how often he/she is used to going for walks. I would also like to know what he/she likes (i.e. type of food, treats, toys, games to play such as fetch or tug-or-war) and how he/she is around children. I have a toddler son, but could keep him separated from your pet if needed. I also live near my 9yr old nephew who loves dogs and would love to play with the dog if the owner would be okay with that. I would respect the owner's wishes either way. I also would like to know how the dog is around other dogs, so I would know how to best care for the dog if we came across another dog during a walk. I would also like to know if it's okay to take the dog in my car if I were to take the dog out with me. I would respect and adhere to the owner's wishes on all of this.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks Wherever the owner feels most comfortable. I live in a nice neighborhood. I have a large yard. I also have parks nearby that I could walk the dog to if owner would like that. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Any part of the house he/she likes. He/she is welcome on any furniture and in any room. I would keep areas of the house that have potential toxins (i.e. bathroom cleaning products, kitchen sink products) out of reach via locked doors and cabinets. Time I'll spend with your dog As much as possible, if the dog prefers that. I love being around dogs and would enjoy his/her company as much as possible throughout the day and night. Dog is welcome to sleep in my bed if he/she wants to and/or is used to that with the owner. I would accommodate the dog's needs. I would want the dog to feel at home and remain happy while with me. I know pets, especially dogs, can have a hard time with separation anxiety when owners are away. I would want to do everything I could to help the dog cope well while waiting for his/her owner to return.
