I've spent at least half my life around dogs. I have owned small (King Charles Spaniel mix) and large (Golden Retriever) dogs in the past. I currently have a lab/pointer/collie/mystery mix with high energy and separation anxiety. When I haven't had my own dog, I've volunteered at local animal shelters and learned to work with all sorts of different dogs: high energy, low energy, shy, anxious, from Huskies to Chihuahuas and Terriers to Shepherds. I've also read the book on dog psychology (which I recommend—Inside a Dog by Alexandra Horowitz.) I have experience providing oral medication and treating ear infections, as well as basic grooming experience. I know it's easy to worry about a pup while you're away so I'm happy to send daily emails or texts with photos and status updates. I work from home remotely, so I have some flexibility in my schedule for walks and drop-ins. I'm also a great sitter for pets with separation anxiety; since my dog has separation anxiety, I already set up my schedule to accommodate it. My apartment is part of a fourplex with a huge shared yard that's great for potty breaks and for dogs to play in. The yard also hosts my neighbor's very friendly and well-trained, unneutered male labrador retriever for much of the day.
