Spacious backyard & State Forest!

Pet care experience

Hi there! I am a recent college graduate who is looking to spend quality time with your pups! I have had dogs all my life and grew up on a farm, fostering relationships with all animals I have taken care of. I live right down the street from the Douglas State Forest (amazing walking trails!) but now I don't have a dog to take since my own Aussie girl passed away two years ago. I am an avid hiker, and while the trails at the State Forest are not super arduous, I find it to be a good way to mentally and physically stimulate that a lot of dogs don't get to experience. I am also happy to take your pup wherever he/she is comfortable! I am willing to do more than the standard half hour walks as one of the shortest trails in the State Forest is about 2 1/2 miles--I am good at tiring out the most energetic dog! I am good with special needs dogs, as you can see I’m quite attached to the white little pit bull in my photos—her name is Reggie and she is deaf and has mobility issues in her back legs. I welcome any opportunity to spend time with your special needs dog no matter what those needs might be! I am also happy to take care of dogs, cats, farm animals, or any other friend you may have in your home! I am open to anything :)

Julia is great. Highly recommend Julia if you need help with your dog. I personally, need someone to come visit and/or walk our dog when I work a long day.

Julia has always been a mature, reliable pet owner. Since a young age she embraced the daily duties of owning a dog and appreciates the benefits the dog gives in return. She is smart and can handle any situation as a critical thinker. Having grown up on a farm, she is in tune with the animals needs and committed to the task at hand.

Julia has always had a love for animals, especially dogs, but has cared for horses, chickens, cats and goats too....all at once on her family's "mini-ranch"! I know since I'm her Aunt! We're "dog people" and I've had two Beagles myself and often need to travel for work. She gets my guy out for walks and provides him with his required "snuggle time" too. Julia has been the "go to" doggie sitter for myself, family and friends for years. We all know she'll take loving and responsible care of our loved ones. She is mature, responsible, organized and compassionate and can keep her head about her in an emergency.

Information Julia T. would like to know about your pet

I have no preference to breeds. Although I am most experienced with herding breeds, I find that to just be a benefit to knowing how to mentally stimulate a dog enough to truly tire them out--and thus keep them out of trouble! I would like to know any special needs the dog has, medications that might be needed, physical ailments that would prevent them from certain types of exercise, or any behavioral issues. The behavioral issues won't be a deal-breaker, but it is always best for the dog and people involved to know about a dog before spending time alone with him/her!

A typical day

Douglas State Forest, Hopedale Parklands, and River Bend Farm are my favorite dog-friendly local hiking trails, but I also frequently walk a friend's dog through the busy streets of Providence and we have just has much of an adventure!
