Pet care experience
IF I AM UNAVAILABLE - please reach out to my sister who lives very close by to me and also has a fenced yard and a dog :) here is her link: https://www.rover.com/members/sarah-d-love-having-your-dog/?service_type=doggy-day-care&start_date=&end_date=&refer=search - Friendly and playful home open to young and old pets of all species. We live with our two dogs in a nice dog friendly neighborhood with a fenced in yard. All of our pets are very social and get along with each other and have had experience with other pets coming in and staying with us for extended periods of time. We are understanding of the additional care needed for puppies as well as our senior animals and have no problem accepting them and loving them as our own during their stay here. Over the years we have fostered dogs for several rescues including the Dalmatian Rescue of Southwest Virginia and the Southern States Mastiff Rescue. I have grown up around animals my whole life with experience in caring for the smallest of creatures such as hamsters and ferrets and birds to large breed dogs.
Reviews
Stella had another great day at Julia's.
Always a wonderful experience for our golden!
Julia was excellent! Very friendly and easy to work with. She was great with our two dogs Boomer and Chief. Boomer is a lab puppy and extremely energetic and Chief is a mixed breed. Both dogs came home wiped out and very happy! They loved playing with her and her dogs. We greatly enjoyed that they were able to run around in her large fenced in backyard! The dogs loved it even more! Julia updated frequently and send photos often. We felt our dogs were safe and sound with Julia. We’ll certainly be rebooking with Julia in the future!
Julia is amazing and was awesome with our active puppy, Stella! We received pictures during the day and she was flexible with our pickup time. Stella came home from a day of play with Julia's dog to crash for a few hours 8-) I'm looking forward to having Stella spend a day in her home on a regular basis.

Does your pet get along with other animals? Do they have any special needs? Is your pet house trained? Any guarding (ex. food aggression)? Does your pet dig? Does your pet climb or Jump fences? Is your pet fixed?
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks We have a fenced yard and live in a neighborhood. If you prefer your dog be walked on a leash we can walk them around the neighborhood. Otherwise, we let our dogs run in the fenced yard. Your dog's sleeping arrangement we prefer pets to be crate trained because we have had a lot of inside accidents during the night from pets we have hosted. Sometimes a pet at home is fine not to be crated at night but in a new house with other dogs and a different schedule we find this leads to accidents inside or chewing belongings from being in a new place. Crate trained is not required but does give us a little more peace of mind during the night that your dog won't be getting into something while we sleep or that we will wake up to a mess. Time I'll spend with your dog I am a stay at home mom and I work part time occasionally. I am home most weeks but will work a day or two here and there. I try not to schedule work during dogsitting. Any time we are home we are spending with our dogs :)
