Looking to meet your best friend!
Pet care experience
My background: Hello I’m Julia! I have been using this app for the past couple of years and I have owned cats & dogs my entire life! I have always loved animals and because of this, have gained a vast array of different animal handling and caring experiences. During undergrad, i was on the pre-vet and wildlife biology track - trying to decide between the two! I eventually chose to focus more on wildlife biology and now I’m a wildlife biologist here in Charleston. I’m originally from Pittsburgh, PA, which is where I went to undergrad, but spent the past two years in NC for grad school. Go Blue Devils!! My animal experience: - Washington Area Humane Society - Jefferson Hills Vet Hospital (photo 1) - Wildlife rescue center(s) (different countries - photo 2) - Dog walker/carer & cat sitter (years and years and years) (photo 3) - Duke Lemur Center Animal Husbandry Worker (photo 4) - Oyster farm volunteer & fish lover (if you have fish that need attention too!) - Field work and handling salmon, toads, and sea turtles (photos 5 & 6) - ** experienced in providing both syringe and pilled medicines to dogs and cats
Reviews
Julia was wonderful! She was so good with our senior dog and his complicated diet. I was also very impressed with her quick responses to my texts.
Julia did a fantastic job, she arrived on time and did everything that was asked. My dogs were happy and well cared for. She had fantastic communication on short notice. I would definitely trust her again!
Julia is a wonderful pet sitter! She’s very attentive and was fast to respond, and went above and beyond with the drop in visits. I highly recommend her!
Thank you!

Transparency: I used to charge less for bookings, but over time, this was leading to burnout. Owners wanted me at their house for 24 hours and while I love being there, I couldn’t justify the pay amount. Rover takes a percentage of my earnings and I also have to set aside earnings for taxes. I also like to meet you and your pet beforehand (without charging). So while I love Rovering, I also need to make sure I’m being compensated appropriately. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out!! Safety: I take animal-sitting and house-watching very seriously, not only for the animals, but for myself! I would love to meet you and your pet beforehand to ensure that your pet is comfortable with me and vice versa. This can be at your home or a public place. I also need to know anything important before the sitting, including if your pet is ever aggressive. Lastly, pet cameras and cameras in general are fine, I would just like those disclosed to me first! This is for my own personal safety. I have my own cat and I understand how important it is to take care of your pet. I do not take it lightly!
Information Julia P. would like to know about your pet
It’s important for me to know your animal’s typical schedule, what you expect during the day, and any bad habits or good that your animal does. We can discuss everything over text or during a meet up!
A typical day
A typical day for your pet will be whatever you decide and we discuss it! Just let me know beforehand and I can accommodate accordingly.

Availability
House-sitting: I know when booking someone to house-sit there are not too many details provided for what that exactly includes..this is because every sitter is very different and will therefore, charge very differently too! I charge $100 per night because I will sleep at your house, and spend the majority of the day at your house too. For example, if you book me for one night, I will be there for 16 hours ATLEAST, ex. 5 pm till 9 am. I also work from home, so I can work from your house and therefore, provide your pet with lots of care. If you want to book me overnight, but only need me for the sleepover part, then just let me know! I can always adjust my price accordingly. During the house-sit, I will give your pet my upmost attention, feed, play, walk, and basically follow whatever schedule you provide. Drop-ins/walks: I charge $20 for 30 minutes of a check-in with your pet! This can include a feeding, bathroom break, play time, or a walk. Let me know what they need and I can provide it!
