Pet care experience
*We are currently fostering five cats and can therefore not accept bookings at this time.* I’m a 28-year-old Norwegian/Canadian citizen with a big heart for animals. I grew up with two golden retrievers, two tabby cats, and a chinchilla, and also have experience volunteering at animal shelters throughout high school and college. I currently study at NMBU Veterinærhøgskolen and work at FOD-gården (Foreningen for Omplassering av Dyr) with both dogs and cats! (I communicate best in English after many years abroad, but understand Norwegian as well - you can write to me however you are most comfortable!) A little bit more about me… I returned to Norway in 2020 and lived at my cabin with my dog Cody for two years until he sadly passed away in August 2022. I now live in Oslo (Kampen) with my boyfriend Håvard. He is born and raised in Oslo, grew up with a boxer, and loves helping out with the animals that stay here. We treat our dog guests like family and bring them around with us on weekend errands and excursions. Please let me know how your dog does in the car and on public transportation so we can plan their stay accordingly!

We live in a renovated stable in Kampen with easy access to the outdoors. The living room and kitchen are on the first floor, with the bedrooms upstairs. There are plenty of sidewalks around the neighbourhood and a dog park nearby.

A typical day
I’m very outdoorsy and love to spend the daylight hours outside. If your dog is comfortable on the subway, I’m happy to bring him/her to Østensjøvannet, Sognsvann, or Frognerparken. Otherwise, there are many safe paths around us too! Svartdalsparken, Ekebergparken, Akerselva, and the Botanical Garden are all within walking distance.

Availability
I study full-time and work part-time and can therefore only accept dogs that do okay home alone for 4-8 hours at a time. Håvard takes the dogs for mid-day walks if I am out of the house for more than 6 hours. When I’m not at school or work, I love to explore the dog-friendly parts of the city! Svartdalsparken, Ekebergparken, Akerselva, and the Botanical Garden are all within walking distance. If your dog is comfortable on the subway, I’m happy to bring him/her to Østensjøvannet, Sognsvann, or Frognerparken.
